Today we kayaked….so much fun….although all my girls got to the other edge of the lake and then complained that their arms were tired…..I guess what they did not realize was that they had to paddle back, so we were late for lunch because all the girls had to throw fits in the middle of the lake; but they all got back safe. In the evening we had a beach party where there were 8 different stations of games each group had to go to. Amberlynn took the girls around to the different games and I lead musical beach towels (musical chairs) and we listened to the beach boys. ... read more

When we went to bed last night it was pouring rain and when we woke up the morning it was still raining, so I was unable to run but on the upside I got another hour of sleep! The girls were up though but they all stayed in bed! Once Reveille went off we all got ready for breakfast….French Toast! We then had cabin clean up and then announcements, we had to switch to a rainy day schedule since all of our activities included being outside. We went to gymnastics and tennis (indoors) and then we had bunk time, we also had another breakdown. Kayla really wants to go home…but while she is gone her parents planned a trip to Taiwan….so there is no way she can go home! We played a couple games in the ... read more

At the meeting yesterday we made sure to mention that they were not to get out of bed until the Revielle at 7:15 or if they have to go to the bathroom or are sick. When I got up for my run this morning at 6:20 I had about 4 pairs of eyes watch me leave and ask me where I was going! Then when I got back at 7:10 every girl had their flashlight on and were reading or writing letters home, but they all knew that they had to stay in their bed! Polar Bear Plunge- waking up the in morning, changing in your swimsuits as soon and as fast as possible, and jumping in the lake…..All my girls except Lauren wanted to do this but I jumped along with them because I was ... read more

This morning I woke up late so I was not able to run with Jessica and Wes, but I did manage to get 2 miles in before Reveille. This was the last breakfast without campers, so we tried to enjoy it as much as possible! :o) After breakfast we had announcements and then off to the art shack to make more signs for our cabins, they were all glittery!!!! Definitely a girlie cabin! We also cleaned to prepare for the girls to come! They should arrive after lunch and everyone should be here by 4ish just in time for supper! We all have lice checks today at 12:30 for female counselors and then 5:30 for our cabin. Campers came in Greyhound buses…there were 8 of them and everyone was hooting and hollering! It was like we ... read more

Had some meetings this morning with junior camp counselors, we went over routines and procedures. Then at lunch we had some yummy homemade pizza. At 2:40 we were scheduled to hike up Piermont Mountain. It was the STEEPEST hike! 3 miles round-trip, we also had to cross through a couple of streams where I missed the rock both times and was stuck in the water because I sunk half way up my leg! I took a TON of pictures, including of my muddy self. Making it to the top was amazing! Beautiful view, I cannot wait to show all the pictures!!! Supper was some well earned fajitas which tasted wonderful after an amazing hike!!!! Right after supper we had some meetings about plays we are going to put on over the summer, and then there was ... read more

I cannot believe that it is already Wednesday and the campers move in on Saturday! I slept WONDERFULLY last night, I woke up nice and cozy in my Dartmoth sweatpants!!! The weather here has been really mild, not hot, I have been wearing shorts and either a long sleeved shirt or a sweatshirt, there is also NO wind!!! Which is really nice!!!!! Today we had a couple of meetings and then right before lunch we found out our bunk assignments!!! My cabin is 12A and I am right next to the water front next to the dining hall. I will have 2nd-3rd grade girls and there are only 6 in my cabin, compared to other cabins who have 12-13 I am very blessed to have a smaller group. We had lunch and then were able to ... read more

We have just spent two days in New Hampshire and I can sum up our experience here in three letters: W-E-T! We did make the most of it, though. We camped at a very scenic campground called Crawford’s Notch. It was extremely secluded and private with The Saco River running behind it. You could hear the water rushing by as you slept - pretty peaceful. Our goals while in New Hampshire were to swim in the river, hike some trails, go on the alpine slide and finally - drive up to the top of Mt. Washington. We did accomplish most of our goals, but it wasn’t very pretty! Tony and the girls braved the 60-something degree river water. I, on the other hand, watched warmly from the shore. The pictures of Tony will show you how ... read more

Day 3 June 22 Woke up cold again this morning, boy I need to get used to these east coast chilly mornings!!!! Maybe tonight I will try to put on more layers!!! We had breakfast and then meetings all morning. Lunch was good we had a taco bar, then we had to take all the campers bags to their cabins. Boy, did they pack about 3 times more then I did and their clothes are littler then mine!! Heavy Heavy bags, but luckily all the carrying was down hill. We then got dressed for Olympics, I was on the black team (who won 3rd place WOOT WOOT. Black attack, Black Black attack!!!) There were 8 different teams and we played games such as Blindfolded Dogdeball, Blanket Volleyball, human foosball, and backwards softball. Crazy crazy games!!!! After ... read more

Greetings from the Adirondack Mountains of New York.! We spent the night at Moffit Beach Campground. We had a beautiful view of Lake Pleasant from our camp site. The only problem was that we couldn’t keep the girls out of the lake! While we were setting up camp for the night, Julia kept asking us to take her to the water to “dip her toes in”. Yeah, right! We knew that she was dying to search for rocks and then do some belly flops! Most of us enjoyed a dinner of grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and broccoli cheese soup. Julia, on the other hand, enjoyed a can of pears, three salami sandwiches (I kid you not) and finished with a grilled cheese sandwich. You know how hungry Julia can get in the outdoors (or indoors)! ... read more
