Some of you already have received this message. Neil and Suzanne had a baby girl at 7:33 AM on April 19. The due date was April 29 so she came about a week early. Sophia Rose entered the world at 7# 11 oz. and 19 1/2 inches. What a beauty! We spent the night at the hospital. Suzanne's labor progressed quite quickly for a first baby, but baby just wouldn't drop into position so after 3 hours of pushing they decided to do a c-section. Mom, Dad and baby are all doing well Grandma and Grandpa are estactic!... read more

Barbara Has returned home. Weather and flood derailed the week RVing in Australia. David is doing train travel across Australia now. Decided to give you a final message and pictures on our time in New Zealand. After leaving the thermal pools in the Waikite Valley we headed north past Auckland. Rained most of the day, but turned nice as we approached Whangarei on the northeast coast of the North Island. Relaxed the rest of the day in a very nice, small, family-owned campground located only about 500 m from a beautiful waterfall. Waited until the next day to walk to the waterfall and then on to a Kauri tree forest. Kauri trees are very old (many 500 years or older), but disappearing in New Zealand with only a few protected areas left. We should not have ... read more

We are getting ready to head to New Zealand and Australia. We leave on December 31 so will start the new year in a new country. We will be traveling by RV as we do in Europe. Should be fun (or scary) driving on the wrong side of the road. Our grandniece, Paige, will be traveling with us which will be fun. We will spend most of January in New Zealand and then move on to Australia for about 10 days working our way north to the Great Barrier Reef. I will return home on February 3 and David and Paige will continue on a train trip across Australia and then on to Thailand and Vietnam returning to the US in March. The next entry will be from New Zealand. Happy New Year to all of ... read more

We are now home. Planned to do a posting when we got to London, but the hotel we were in charged 15 pounds per day for internet which we didn't pay. Most of our other stops were free or charged from 3-6 euro per day so this was a shock. We completed our canal experience on July 15. Overall it was a great experience. Beautiful countryside and fascinating to work the locks. Have lots to share with everyone when we get home. The weather was somewhat less than desirable - in the mid 60's most days, lots of clouds and only a few days with no rain at all. Four days pretty much had rain on and off all day. They provide slickers with the boat so this was not unusual weather. In fact, it explains ... read more

We are getting ready for another summer travel adventure. We are returning to Europe to bicycle in the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark. We will be in Europe until July 20. We have rented an RV like we did before so our route and schedule are flexible. We will also spend 2 weeks in a houseboat on a canal in England and end our trip with a few days in London. At least this is the plan. The original plan was to leave home on May 11 on a direct flight to London and then on to Amsterdam. David did leave on May 11 and after a few delays did get to Amsterdam about 6 hours late. He is shopping for bicycles, studying routes and getting the computer fixed. Worked fine when he left, but now won't ... read more

Hi Everyone, Today we went to Hoover Dam, Kids liked it a lot. We went down 500+ feet into the dam and went into the generator room on the Nevada side, and we went into the diversion pipe line cave that houses the huge pipe. We had enough water flowing under us, they said it would fill a olympic size swimming pool in one minute. You could feel the rumbling under your feet, pretty powerful. We then went up and walked to Arizona for the fun of it. Took pictures of the Dam and the new extension bridge that is being built for traffic to use so they have better flow to Arizona. We cruised the Old down town strip, now called the Freemont Experience. Then we cruised the new Las Vegas strip. We stopped at ... read more

A bright early start to the day at 4am. We jumped on a bus and settled in for our expected 6 hour ride to the Grand Canyon and to our surprise after 30 mins was at the airport. Andrew and I had no idea, but we were actually flying to the canyon! We were on 15 seater plane for an hour flight. Flew over Hoover Dam and out into the middle of no where. After about 40 mins, Andrew and I were again surprised to be flying over snow, we arrived at Grand Canyon airport to -14c and freshest and softest snow we have both ever seen. It would’ve been nice to be told it would be cold, as our hoodies really weren’t helping too much in the cold. We were then escorted out to our ... read more
