We are happy to tell you that we are about to leave again on another fun vacation. We had to skip a New England cruise last Fall but we are going on a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise, starting later this week. This will be a comparatively short trip for us, but we will go to some interesting places we haven’t visited before. We will follow that week with a few additional days visiting St Louis Cardinals Spring Training in Florida. And to make it even more fun, Janet’s sister and her husband (Kathy and Jim Siebert) are going with us. We expect to have a really great time. If you have followed our exploits during previous cruises, you will surely agree that over the years we have gone to some pretty remarkable places and we have seen some really incredible sights. Our travels have allowed us to explore different parts of the world, and on April 21stwe will start another amazing cruise vacation. Technically we are taking two cruises back-to-back. They are titled the “Spanish Passage” cruise and the “Mediterranean Medley” cruise. We are actually going to visit a few ports where we’ve been before (are we running out of new places to visit in the world?), but we expect to have a great time wherever we travel. Here we go on another fun vacation. It has been 16 months since our last cruise (Australia/New Zealand), and we have developed a bad case of itchy-foot syndrome. This trip will be another “first time experience” for us – going on a cruise we’ve actually done before; to Alaska. Our previous Alaskan Cruise was 11 years ago so we are looking forward to seeing it again, but we are also doing new things and this certainly will not be a re-run of our earlier trip. The first week of this vacation will be a land-based exploration of the Canadian Rockies (where we have wanted to visit for a long time), followed by a week cruising the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Anchorage Alaska. Hello. Janet & David are leaving on another terrific vacation. You have found our BLOG where we will describe our 2014 trip around Australia and New Zealand. We will be posting updates as frequently as possible (hopefully daily) once we reach Australia. We will be taking two cruises while on this vacation with plenty of interesting excursions along the way. Then we will stay several more days for some land-based tours in southern Australia. Driving Home – Wed & Thurs – March 21th & 22nd The vacation officially is ending with a 2-day drive back home. We had a last breakfast with a few of the early risers in the Embassy Suites (eggs to order, omelets, fruit, juice, milk/tea, etc). We had virtually everything packed the night before, and we put the final few things in the last bag Wednesday morning. We were able to get a luggage trolley and took all the bags down to the car, got everything loaded, and on the road by 8:15. It was a little disappointing to see the end of our vacation, but we are eager to get back home. The drive was fine on Wednesday with good weather and no problems with traffic.
