Day 3. A damp start to the morning, caught the trolley bus to the Boston Tea Party, great fun & very interesting. Although the rain had stopped, still a very chilly wind, hoped back on the bus up to the Bunker Hill memorial, from where we walked the Freedom Trail all the way back to Boston Common.... read more

Day 2 in Boston, after breakfast went on the Boston Duck tour covers both land & water. Then got tickets for the on/off trolley bus as weather wet & quite chilly. Got off at the Massachusetts state House & went in to get out of the rain for a while, very interesting. Still raining when we came out but not too hard so walked for a while, taking in Cheers & the Trinity church (the oldest church in Boston). Then after dinner went up to the skywalk in the Prudential Centre to have a look at the Boston skyline at night.... read more

Today we arrived in boston after a non eventful flight. Quickly through the airport to get a taxi to the Colonnade hotel. A room with the wow factor, loads of space and a huge bed each! We also met our new friend for the holiday, Colonnade Duck :-) Went for a walk, as far as Boston Common, taking in the sights on the way & a visit to the cheesecake factory on the way back. Early night after a long day, ready for a duck tour of Boston in the morning.... read more

Took us around 5 hours to drive up to Boston - quite an easy drive and found our apartment easily. We are in North End (which is called little Italy) where Paul Revere lived... a very busy bustling area... within 200 metres of 87 restaurants, bars, salumieris, Italy groceries... love it!!! Lots of Mom and Pop stores!! Such a great spot... tiny little apartment but 2 bed and 2 bath. Also about 200 metres to the waterfront in the other direction. Went for a lazy casual dinner and a couple of beers at the Boston Sail Loft on the waterfront.. then back for an early night. Woke early but we are all still with aching muscles, calves after our hectic time in New York. First things first down to a lovely Italian place for breaky and ... read more

Home again, home again, jiggity jig. All went smoothly in our travels. Michigan was decently fun. And, as promised, some stats: 3700 miles 64 hours 11 states 17 days Best places: Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Minneapolis Honorable Mentions: Denver Not worth your time (sorry to anybody from there): Albuquerque, Mt. Rushmore, Cheyenne Dishonorable mention: Mojave Desert. I'm sorry, but 117o is just not cool (pun intended) Coolest things to do: Swim in random reservoirs and lakes we happened across, drive the Trail Ridge Road, win money in Vegas Best food: Buffalo. South Dakota wins one Until my next trip, thanks for reading!... read more

Day 1 The crack of noon. That’s when Sean and I departed for parts unknown, the longest journey we had attempted with our bicycles. I would have loved to leave earlier, but a combination of having to work the evening before, the completion of my summer semester, and putting the final touches on trip planning made waking up early kind of impractical. Plus Sean was having an issue with his front wheel and needed to have it looked at by a bike mechanic before leaving. Yeah…that was the real reason we started out so late. My dad dropped me off in Longueil, on the south shore, which was our meet up point. I set up the gear on my bike. We were both traveling extremely light. I had a tent, down sleeping bag, compact stove, basic ... read more

The main reason for the boat and crew to be up in Boston, MA was to be there for the 4th of July. The Boss thought it would be fun to watch a Red Sox game the day before and he booked a private perch and took the family and included the crew. We got a tour of the stadium, a historic run, every one got a had lunch box and alcoholic drinks. It was $2000 for 10 people plus $200 per extra person to hire the perch with a personal bartender for 4 hr and a half. We were really there for the atmosphere and to have fun not really to watch the game. Personally, I don’t know anything about American games, never the less “Baseball”. But I anticipated the fun to catching some action ... read more
