BOSTON
Waterfront from restaurant Took us around 5 hours to drive up to Boston - quite an easy drive and found our apartment easily. We are in North End (which is called little Italy) where Paul Revere lived... a very busy bustling area... within 200 metres of 87 restaurants, bars, salumieris, Italy groceries... love it!!! Lots of Mom and Pop stores!! Such a great spot... tiny little apartment but 2 bed and 2 bath. Also about 200 metres to the waterfront in the other direction. Went for a lazy casual dinner and a couple of beers at the Boston Sail Loft on the waterfront.. then back for an early night. Woke early but we are all still with aching muscles, calves after our hectic time in New York. First things first down to a lovely Italian place for breaky and pretty good coffee then walked the Freedom Trail which was great, where our apartment is.. is about halfway... then got the hop on hop off bus and did the rounds, stopping at the original Cheers bar for lunchtime beverages then onto other sites including the Tea Party Ships and Museum and then took a harbour cruise in the afternoon...Boston is a really pretty city and
AL DENTE
Good old Italian food in North End no crowds which is a nice change..population just over 600,000, very hot though over 90 degrees (33 c) and humid, looking forward to a bit cooler weather in Toronto next weekend. Then walked back to North End to Paul Revere House and to his very impressive statue in a small park off Hanover Street. Out for dinner to Al Dente - great Italian place...heaving! Yummy pastas all round and a nice bottle of Sangiovese.
