Annapolis North America » United States » Maryland By greenmachineApril 21st 2007Hi everyone - it has been a while! I'm still ticking, and I like to get out and about every once in a while. Recently, a visit to the Annapolis waterfront was in order. I was a happy dude walking the quaint streets brimming with energy. Spring is in full bloom as you can tell from the cherry blossoms highlighting the scenery. Mindy was kind enough to escort me through a wonderful afternoon! Check out the hat! ~ thank you Dr. Friedman~ A ... read more

Spent a couple hours in Baltimore walking through all the shops. Grabbed dinner and enjoyed listening to the water. Hard Rock Cafe and several other kinds of seafood, Italian, Irish and other kinds of restaurants are located all along the Harbor as well as several dozen shops of all kinds. It was a beautiful evening and there was a magician performing for the crowd. The Harbor almost always has some kind of performance on weekends and a crowd soon takes a seat to watch. Those out on dates as well as families are ever present. I have toured the Aquarium before and it's quite good. Need to go back and view again someday. During the day, one can rent paddleboats or go out on water tours of the Harbor. Such a pretty area which has come ... read more

On February 22nd I underwent surgery to remove a bone tumor from my right orbital cavity. Whew! It is now a week later, and I am on the road to recovery. Many thoughts have creeped in and out of my head in recent times, the most amazing of which is how the human body can be both so strong and vulnerable at the same time. My condition continues to improve exponentially day after day, with my strength and energy tied to food and exercise more now than ever before. Thanks to everyone who has shown their care for me! Especially the pampering from my family and close ones. A... read more

Here I am finishing up my last few hours at a job I've spent the past year and a half growing into. I made a lot of good, had a lot of crazy experiences, and learned more about beer and music than most people do in a lifetime. Soon I will be off to another great adventure in the far off country of Korea. I am jumping in headfirst, taking a leap of faith if you will. On this adventure I will keep you posted and up-to-date on my day to day. I promise pictures, mountain climbing stories, drunken novels and more. Check back for updates!... read more

With just over a week until departure to Argentina, finishing my job and moving back in with my parents has left me thinking back over the past year and a half I have spent here in and around Annapolis. So this is not really a travel blog, but more of a blog about home. Which is part of the journey I suppose! After traveling a few places, I have found that I approach home now with a little of the attitude that I had while I was abroad. I find that I make friends easier, am more willing to try new things, to take advantage of the things this place has to offer rather than writing it off as boring and narrow like I thought it was when growing up. After a year in Annapolis I ... read more

It's once again the year of the pig, and once again time to travel. Twelve years since Steve's last sabbatical. Twelve years since we lived in Bejing, since our then 3 year old received a special gift of an enormous stuffed pig she still sits on, since our family was pictured in the English edition of China Daily celebrating in Ditan Park, since we served lasagna with chopsticks to Steve's Chinese office mates to mark the 12 days of Christmas. Twelve days till we board a plane for Hanoi in Vietnam, where it will once again be the year of the pig, and where we begin our adventure.
