Left Hudson WI and headed out for home. Prayed for no rain and it was perfect. Low overcast and nary a drop of rain. Temp around 80 degrees. All went well and we had about 525 miles to go down all interstate. As we hit Chicago traffic got real heavy and some stop and go but I have seen far worse. One thing I noticed was that on 94 all through Wisconsin the speed limit was 70 mph and I went 75 and people were passing me doing 80-85 in cars, motor homes and campers. Apparently WI troopers are very forgiving. Made it home by 4 pm and it was good to be home. First time I have taken a trip this long and I was ready to come home. Was home for 2 hours and ... read more

Day 27 - Grand Island to Elkhart We were awoken by the lovely sounds of a storm this morning. It was a good thing we didn't have plans for the morning. We slept in and relaxed while we waited to hear news of the car repairs. We did a bit of trailer maintenance and stayed out of the morning storm. By 11:30 we got the news that the car was ready to go and the super helpful Manager of the Auto Parts store gave Tony a ride to pick up the car. By 1PM we were once again on the road and headed towards Elkhart IL. On the way we stopped at a massive service center that spanned the whole Interstate. There were gas stations on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the freeway and ... read more

Day 4 Left Gardiner Montana for the border. Awesome rt 89 through Montana is a must do ride. Fantastic smooth and awesome scenery. Through the Lewis and Clark National forest to elevations approaching 9000 feet. This road follows just to the east of the Rocky Mountains and you can see them the whole way up. Went from hills and mountains to huge fields of hay and wheat. My friend Bob's phone quit working so we stopped at Walmart in Great Falls and bought a new phone. Many of the pics I took are on my go pro and you cannot post videos here at this time unless they are linked to You Tube. Slow uplinks on free wifi so soon as I get a good link will upload some videos. We arrived at Browning Montana for ... read more

My Rant, This trip is a tribute to my love of motorcycles and my loving wife of 38 years who graciously let me take time to make this trip. It has been on my bucket list for some time and this year actually worked out. 3 weeks starting on July 2nd and coming back on July 25th. I will try and post an outline of each day with pictures and places. I took this trip with my good friend Bob as we have taken many trips together and we have a great time. Leave comments as you feel. Day 1 We left Indiana and traveled I 80 to I 39 and went north to get on US rt 20 to take all across the west. Both Bob and I hate interstates and like to travel 2 ... read more

GREETINGS all . . . . I made it back to the USA, safety after a long 13hr. flight. Jet lag , final reports, and birthday celebrations followed immediately. China was an awesome experience, I will have the opportunity to see 20 of my students when they come to Concordia University Chicago for their final year of college (August 2016). I learned a lot, experienced the culture, and have a greater understanding of the potential students. The exposure will have a lasting effect. Enjoy the my final days in China and my repatriation back into the USA.... read more

Well the day has arrived, I slowly walked into the front doors of Central Nine Career Center as I have for the past 5 1/2 years, but, today is a little different. Through the hard work, fun, challenges, and unique personalities . . . . tears will flow, saying see you later to my C9 family is difficult.... read more

We have spent the last 3 days at Camp Atterbury just south of Indianapolis. Yesterday we headed north to Indianapolis. First stop was the stadium where the Indiana Colts play. It's called Lucas Oil Stadium and there is evidence all over the stadium who the main sponsor is... We took a tour of the stadium, yes even the locker room of the Colts. Those ice baths they all go in after the games look like they barely would fit me. We went to the top where the press box was and the view was awesome from that point. Joe got excited when he got to go through the tunnel onto the field. They were doing field prep for the upcoming pre-season games so we could only go on the outskirts of the field. It's a pretty ... read more

We finished our last few days in Iowa doing so many things with Patty and Jeff. We visited the Iowa Motor speedway and even got to see the NASCAR car hauler parade. The next day we spent watching Patty do her thing in the kitchen. We traveled a long way to have her lasagna. There are even two trays in our freezer. Yummy. Thanks Patty and Jeff for a great time. We left Iowa heading to Chicago for what was supposed to be 7 days literally on a Lake Michigan beach. The first day we were there we had a major electrical issue that almost caused a fire. After the repair place said they could not fix it, they recommended we drive the 170 miles to Elkhart, Indiana. Elkhart is where the manufacturer is located. So ... read more

... read more
