Alaska trip Day 1

My Rant,

This trip is a tribute to my love of motorcycles and my loving wife of 38 years who graciously let me take time to make this trip.

It has been on my bucket list for some time and this year actually worked out.

3 weeks starting on July 2nd and coming back on July 25th.

I will try and post an outline of each day with pictures and places.

I took this trip with my good friend Bob as we have taken many trips together and we have a great time.

Day 1

We left Indiana and traveled I 80 to I 39 and went north to get on US rt 20 to take all across the west.

Both Bob and I hate interstates and like to travel 2 lane roads to get a good feel of the country. You just plain see way more than you would on the interstate.

Rt 20 is the old Oregon Trail and runs coast to coast.

Through Iowa and Nebraska its a fantastic road to ride with very minimal traffic.

Day was uneventful but the area around Galena Il and Dubuque Iowa is very scenic. I should have taken pictures but I have been here so many times I just forgot.

Arrive in Sioux City Iowa for the first night. 560 miles in all. Tomorrow across Nebraska to Casper Wyoming.
