Taking it easy I've gotten real good at that! Bye Bye USA. Wow, it just dawned on me that today is my last day here in the US and I'll be heading home tomorrow! Well, not home as in Vancouver, but home as in Canada. I can't believe that 9/10ths of my trip are gone and that the last 1/10th are sure to fly by. I fly into Halifax tomorrow afternoon and a couple of days after that I'll take off on a short 6 day tour around Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. From there I decided that I'd like to fly over to St. John's, Newfoundland before heading back to Halifax where my train journey across Canada will start. Something I've always wanted to do since I was a kid! Since the ... read more

I’ve been abandoned Altering this blog entry But I can't say why... Hmm, where to start? Long story short, Anita has taken off for Florida to help a friend that has to get some stuff done. But back to me… ;)…lol…I’ve got the day to myself here in Atlanta yet again. I didn’t get to sleep until past 3AM so I’m still pretty tired but can’t seem to sleep much more. What to do today? I guess since I’ll be taking off for Halifax first thing on Sunday morning I should get all of my laundry washed. Hmm, I still have a few entries for the blog…almost caught up…for now! Oh and I guess I should really look up the hostels that I want to stay at when travelling across Canada. Make some lunch. I have ... read more

Two weeks in Georgia Internet is my life line Doing this and that. Instead of making 14 individual entries about my last two weeks here in Atlanta I have decided to make one huge one. So here goes… Monday, September 12, 2005 Back in Atlanta Puttering around the house Went out for a walk. Anita will be working during my two weeks here in Atlanta so I’ll have the days all to myself while she away working hard at work. I should be able to keep myself preoccupied. Hmm, what are some activities I can partake in…? • Watching TV. • Listening to music...even with the limited selection of cd’s on hand. :) • Test my baking skills. • Eating. • Napping. • Watch DVD’s. • Read my “Wicked” book. • Organize my bag yet again. ... read more

Bye Bye cruising life Bye Explorer of the Seas Day full of goodbyes. We had an early morning start this morning and were amongst the first set of people to be able to disembark the Ship at 7AM. There was a bit of delay with passing through Immigration because they were having computer problems. That gave us a little bit more time to say our goodbyes and thank you’s to Christie. Since Laura and I were sharing the same last name and the same address we were able to fill in one immigration form. Technically Laura and Alice were in transit and would be flying into Seattle and then driving home to Vancouver on the same day. I was going to be flying into Atlanta and hanging out there for a couple more weeks. But since ... read more

It is Saturday Quiet at the Shopping Mall Too hot for a hike. Anita got up bright and early for half marathon training. She’s aiming to run a half marathon in November. It’s too bad I won’t be in Atlanta at that time to cheer her on. I won’t be here in person but I will be here in spirit. :) These last couple of days I just can’t seem to sleep in for some reason. Perhaps it’s the anticipation of being on a huge cruise ship in about 30 hours time… So I lounged on the sofa watching TV when I had an epiphany…I don’t need to burn my photos to CD. I can send them via email to Vic’s Gmail account and he can download them at home. Now this is a bit of ... read more

I made some waffles Topped with ice cream and some fruit Fun to be cooking. I woke up early and said goodbye to Anita as she headed off to work. Hmm, I don’t feel like going back to sleep yet I don’t feel like doing anything in particular. So I just lazed about on the sofa watching the morning TV programs. Most of the coverage is on Hurricane Katrina that just ripped through New Orleans. It was really kind of depressing to watch after a while. So eventually I rolled off of the sofa and gathered up my clothes that needed to be laundered. Hmm, I think I can even do a separate lights and darks load! What a treat. Lol Now what? Hey, I have access to a real kitchen. So I whipped up some ... read more

Off to JFK Flight to Washington, DC Missed Atlanta flight! Maria helped me to arrange a cab to pick me up this morning to go to JFK. It was only $23…only $10 more than if I had taken the LIRR and the Airtrain. Plus I didn’t have to wake up quite as early. I was at the airport about 2 ½ hours early so there was plenty of time just sitting around. Once again it gave me a chance t update my journal. I’m happy to report that I’m actually writing this entry on September 1st! I’m up-to-date…until tomorrow. Lol My flight from New York City to Washington was delayed on the runway for about half an hour. Hmm, this is gonna make it a close call for my connector flight down to Atlanta. The very ... read more

Saturday, July 30, 2005 - Turner's Field, Atlanta, GA Lexus Pavillion at the Turners Field, Home of the Braves is our destination for today. Our company has a banquet and baseball game function, and after some good food, booze and mingle picnic with some other co-workers and their family, it turned out that our seats are very satisfying. My buddy Foxie, who is a big fan of the Braves, has faithfully called me and wondered how on earth I had never been in Atlanta Braves game before, but finally I'm here at the edge of my seat, watching the game in delight and trying my best to figure out on what is going on in the field, and having a good time at the same time. Doing the famous Tomahawk Chop at the Home of the ... read more
