Kate here again... Yeah...so...hi everyone who's still stumbling upon our little neglected corner of cyberspace. :) If I'd been keeping up to date on Liza's hugely successful LizaWasHere blog, I might've realized that she's been linking to us here. Needless to say, we kinda lost our travel blog momentum over the 2nd half of our trip this past summer. By the time we realized that we'd fallen off the "updated regularly" wagon, we had soooooo many pictures and general fatigue from being on the road for so long, that everything just kinda fizzled. We also had a consistent yet annoying habit of forgetting to take pictures when we were with friends and family. So consider this the official closing of this particular blog for updates. It was a GREAT trip. A fabulous time was had, and ... read more

It was 29th the next day of my arrival though it was 29th in the Night of 28th here. I called up mummy Papa both the didi and bhaiya were also their. They wished me happy birthday. But still my heart was empty. When I was in India i used to get fed up attending the calls from my friends but still I was not having any no. that i can give to others so that they can call me. I published my hotel no. in orkut (http://www.orkut.com/Home.aspx?xid=7260816298042092746)got 1 or 2 calls that I missed. because I was not in my hotel room. My flight landed at Newark (New Jersey) airport at 3 am in the morning. Now it was time for immigration check we were ready with our immigration form filled in. We entered immigration counter and there were separate line for residents and non residents. It was my turn now. The lady who was having an immigration check entered my last name and her computer hanged it was because my last name is very common in US UK as well as in India its Singh (Sardar Insan nahin gadha hai :)).But I m happy with this comment because I m not a sardar I m Rajpoot. So at last her system got a check of mine and she gave me an immigration for 3 months. Then it was our turn to get our luggage and load it ... read more

I really hate Delta. All that time I spent in line yesterday getting my flight rebooked was a waste. They had tried to put me on a flight out of Gatwick into Edinburgh so I wouldn't have to worry about purchasing another train ticket. Well, about 20 minutes after I left Nashville airport to head to my icky hotel room my "confirmed" flight on BA was cancelled. Now that flight is full. I get into Gatwick at 7am and my new flight to Edinburgh isn't until 8pm. So I spent another hour at the counter today while the same guy (bless his heart) tried to fix my flight. They gave me a note saying that it's the airline's fault I missed my train. I wonder if the UK train system cares. But at least I'm getting ... read more

(disclaimer - I write this blog solely from my observation and information I received. I didn’t mean to offend anyone - so if you’re sensitive towards the homosexuality subject, I would suggest you to skip the blog, because this is not for faint hearted people) Ah, Atlanta. I always find cultures are interesting, that is probably the biggest reason I’ve been addicted to traveling, just to experience different things and explore new places. After two years residing in the big city of HOT-lanta, finally I realized that there is an obvious culture that I hadn’t even considered on exploring. The one Atlanta is famous for, the one is that so close that laid out before my very eyes. The gay culture. You do not need to be gay to experience the culture. The only thing needed ... read more

Shay here... This is to all those Earthlinkers out there - THANKS ALOT! And that's all I have to say. Okay, maybe I have a little more to say. Yesterday was Kate's last day of work, so I drove into the city and we met up with some friends for a little send-off party. Five hours, eight Jack&Cokes, and two Tequila shots later, I'm driving one very drunk Kate home as she decides that Bleu Cheese Burger really doesn't want to be in her stomach and would much rather be decorating I-75 Southbound. So if any of you were driving on the highway around 10:00 p.m. last night and got a little surprise on your windshield....it's your own fault! It's a good thing I was able to get some water and ibuprofen down her throat when ... read more

Kate here... So we've started our blog a bit early, but at this point, anything that keeps us distracted and out of that damn money-sucking store that is REI is a good thing. I swear to God. I can't get out of there without dropping at least $100. ... read more

I will start posting in this blog once I am actually about to go abroad, which will be on July 19th, 2006. Until then, I will be working my butt off in Kingsland, Georgia. So if anyone goes to Florida, stop by and say hi (I will be insanely bored there). Well, here is the plan of my trip: First, I will spend a month and a half in Russia. I will fly into Moscow and hang out with my friends for a few days, then I will take a train to Ulyanovsk, my hometown. While I am there, I will also try to visit some cities near by - Samara, Tolyatti, Kazan', etc. And the most exciting part - I will visit the village that my mom grew up in - Slavkino, as well as ... read more
