We didn’t have a fast pass for this so had to queue. The board said 50mins, but we were lucky and it was closer to 30. The ride was great. It was a water ride, so we got a little wet. When I do it again, I want to be at the front. That way I’ll get even more wet. The ups and downs of the ride were cool. The best and most frightening part of the ride was the the long drop from the top of the mountain. Will definitely do again.... read more

Hello to all our friends, We have been in Orlando for 6nights,Kevin and Ray went to Kennedy space centre for the day,whilst Glenys and I played Ladies and spent the time at the pool and walking around. Another day we went to Disney Springs it was a lot of fun,and at night we watched fireworks from Disney. The Accomodation here is superb,we are being really spoilt. And of course we went to Walmart which is our second home!! Did the outlets but didn’t buy anything!!! Also it’s been raining here every day and thunderstorms,but it’s still lovely and warm,we are going to get a bit of a shock when we come back to Canberra. Tommorrow we drive 3 hrs to Fort Lauderdale,our accomodation is on the beach. Catch up soon KS... read more

"Motherhood. The days are long but the years are short." We are switching it up here - we're not in the land of margaritas & palm trees... Well we're in the land of palm trees, but more Mickey Mouse than margaritas. We're in Orlando and I'm back to see my boyfriend Mickey Mouse. He seems to be aging quite well despite being 90 years old (must be all that botox he gets!) How Al & I found ourselves with our oldest daughter finishing her 2nd year of university, our 2nd second daughter graduating high school & heading to university & our youngest gal heading to high school baffles me. Were Al & I sleepwalking through life? How did our girls grow up so dang fast? It feels like somebody broke into our lives and stole time. ... read more

Virgin Atlantic's ticket counter is in Terminal A on the 3rd floor (departures). Their flights operate out of both Terminal A and Terminal B, but the entire airport is accessible from either "terminal," by walking from one side to the other. It's not a large airport, and shops/food court are shared by both terminals. We will gather between 5:15pm-5:30pm on Friday afternoon. Once all 15 travelers are together, we will check-in as a group. Each individual presents his/her passport to the agent, who checks his/her suitcase through to Paris CDG. Each passenger receives 2 boarding passes: one to Manchester, the other to Paris CDG. So, it's been a while and I don't think anyone reads these anymore but my kids want to start looking into what their parents got up to in the olden days so I'm going to make another effort on these pages! Quick update, surprisingly we've not had any more kids since our last blog, the big three are now all at school (p6, p4 and p1) and Martha will be two in a few weeks time. We're actually just back from another holiday (October 2019) which is the opposite of what I'm writing about here, this trip to Florida (October 2018) was a full on exhausting adventure and next month we're going to the Isle of Barra in the Scottish Outer Hebrides for some much needed unplugging off-grid time.
