This was an odd experience, since the game itself was fantastic, but everything surrounding it was a bit lackluster (and even downright frustrating). First off, let me say that I was excited I would get to attend a second game involving Notre Dame in which none of my loyalties would be questioned. Also, I could attend a game for a reasonable price. When the matchup was announced in early December, I was also thrilled that it would be in a location relatively close to home. I contemplated making it an overnight trip, especially since the kickoff time was set at noon. But with the money situation, the decision to do a day trip to Orlando was much more palatable. Wake up around 5:00, leave before 6:00, and then be back home in time to watch some ... read more

We have been a bit too busy to blog so will summarise it here.... Day 4, lots of shopping. Daddy went nuts and brought heaps. It was like mummy and daddy had switched bodies. I also got some cool new shoes, BB9, a lightsaber and got to have yummy chicken nuggets twice. At night Aunty Tarn and I went to Disney Springs and I found a shop that has a cup cake atm outside. Put the money in and get your choice of cupcake back. Awesome!! Day 5, Halloween party at Magic Kingdom. The most people I have seen in my life. I dressed up as Pac-Man and mum, dad and Aunty tarns as ghosts. We got ridiculous amounts of candy. While most people were busy watching the parade, daddy and I went and did splash ... read more

It was cool, but kinda scary. At the top you see the track was broken. Then it went backwards. The most terrifying part was rushing backwards really quickly. It was dark and you didn’t know where you were going. There was a big forward drop and that was pretty fun. Really wanted to get back on it but the queue was a bit big and we had to go for breakfast (don’t have food before doing this ride)... read more

Today we went on a ride called dinosaur and it was amazing. On the ride you can see dinosaurs like carnotaurus and they appear to come right at you. For me this the most terrifying ride in animal kingdom. And yes, I went on it again straight away. ... read more

In one word....Awesome!!! We used the fast pass and jumped most of the queues. Only had to wait about 10 minutes. The ride was short but fun. All the dips and turns were the best. I did lots of yelling and screaming, but really liked it. Will do again as soon as I can!! ... read more

We didn’t have a fast pass for this so had to queue. The board said 50mins, but we were lucky and it was closer to 30. The ride was great. It was a water ride, so we got a little wet. When I do it again, I want to be at the front. That way I’ll get even more wet. The ups and downs of the ride were cool. The best and most frightening part of the ride was the the long drop from the top of the mountain. Will definitely do again.... read more

Sadly, we leave Venice today. It's been an awesome trip! We saw a lot! Our flight today is at 12:30, so we were able to sleep in until about 7:00. We have an 8:30 shuttle to the airport, so we left our luggage outside the room and headed down to breakfast. After a quick breakfast and some good-byes, the "shuttle" turned out to be a water taxi at the canal right outside the door to the hotel. It turns out that water taxi's are not allowed in the inner canals because of the gondolas, but gondolas are not allowed out until 9:30. So before 9:30 we can get door to door service. It was fitting that our last view of Venice would be a water taxi ride. The boat pulled up to the hotel door and ... read more

“Always let your conscience be your guide.” ~ Pinocchio. Well gotta say we're living the life of Riley here at our villa to the point old Riley is jealous. :) The pool with the waterfalls is heaven - it's so nice to float the day away in 100F temps since spring at home didn't get the memo it should've arrived by now. :( Although we've not had a lot of pool time since we've been on the go.... read more

"Motherhood. The days are long but the years are short." We are switching it up here - we're not in the land of margaritas & palm trees... Well we're in the land of palm trees, but more Mickey Mouse than margaritas. We're in Orlando and I'm back to see my boyfriend Mickey Mouse. He seems to be aging quite well despite being 90 years old (must be all that botox he gets!) How Al & I found ourselves with our oldest daughter finishing her 2nd year of university, our 2nd second daughter graduating high school & heading to university & our youngest gal heading to high school baffles me. Were Al & I sleepwalking through life? How did our girls grow up so dang fast? It feels like somebody broke into our lives and stole time. ... read more
