Sadly, we leave Venice today. It's been an awesome trip! We saw a lot! Our flight today is at 12:30, so we were able to sleep in until about 7:00. We have an 8:30 shuttle to the airport, so we left our luggage outside the room and headed down to breakfast. After a quick breakfast and some good-byes, the "shuttle" turned out to be a water taxi at the canal right outside the door to the hotel. It turns out that water taxi's are not allowed in the inner canals because of the gondolas, but gondolas are not allowed out until 9:30. So before 9:30 we can get door to door service. It was fitting that our last view of Venice would be a water taxi ride. The boat pulled up to the hotel door and ... read more

Hello to all our friends, We have been in Orlando for 6nights,Kevin and Ray went to Kennedy space centre for the day, whilst Glenys and I played Ladies and spent the time at the pool and walking around. Another day we went to Disney Springs it was a lot of fun,and at night we watched fireworks from Disney. The Accomodation here is superb,we are being really spoilt. And of course we went to Walmart which is our second home!! Did the outlets but didn’t buy anything!!! Also it’s been raining here every day and thunderstorms, but it’s still lovely and warm,we are going to get a bit of a shock when we come back to Canberra. Tommorrow we drive 3 hrs to Fort Lauderdale, our accomodation is on the beach. Catch up soon KS... read more

“Always let your conscience be your guide.” ~ Pinocchio. Well gotta say we're living the life of Riley here at our villa to the point old Riley is jealous. :) The pool with the waterfalls is heaven - it's so nice to float the day away in 100F temps since spring at home didn't get the memo it should've arrived by now. :( Although we've not had a lot of pool time since we've been on the go.... read more

"Motherhood. The days are long but the years are short." We are switching it up here - we're not in the land of margaritas & palm trees... Well we're in the land of palm trees, but more Mickey Mouse than margaritas. We're in Orlando and I'm back to see my boyfriend Mickey Mouse. He seems to be aging quite well despite being 90 years old (must be all that botox he gets!) How Al & I found ourselves with our oldest daughter finishing her 2nd year of university, our 2nd second daughter graduating high school & heading to university & our youngest gal heading to high school baffles me. Were Al & I sleepwalking through life? How did our girls grow up so dang fast? It feels like somebody broke into our lives and stole time. ... read more

Virgin Atlantic's ticket counter is in Terminal A on the 3rd floor (departures). Their flights operate out of both Terminal A and Terminal B, but the entire airport is accessible from either "terminal," by walking from one side to the other. It's not a large airport, and shops/food court are shared by both terminals. We will gather between 5:15pm-5:30pm on Friday afternoon. Once all 15 travelers are together, we will check-in as a group. Each individual presents his/her passport to the agent, who checks his/her suitcase through to Paris CDG. Each passenger receives 2 boarding passes: one to Manchester, the other to Paris CDG. With your hand baggage, your passport and your 2 boarding passes, move to the side and wait for the others to check in. Please stay together, as we wait for the rest ... read more

So it's Spring Break time, and this year I decided that it was time to do the stereotypical thing for the week: head to south Florida. Specifically, I'm finally going to check out South Beach, but not for the party scene or even for the beach life. It's home to the largest concentration of Art Deco architecture in the world. And my loyal readers will remember how much I am in love with Art Deco. That is my motivating factor, and I was able to convince my buddy Jack to take the trip with me. It turns out that he has relatives in the area, so we're not going to have to pay for any lodging for the time we're in the Miami area. That's even more motivation to go to this destination. The first two ... read more

Well, I thought our day would start at 4am but the nervous Nelly’s decided that we should leave Friday night so that we don’t have to worry about traffic, leaving late or accidents on the road that would make us late. I love traveling with the girls that think our luggage is going to get lost and all the glass half empty stuff. They are a pleasure. I told them I’m gonna change their thinking and work on thinking positive. Anyway, we headed out just after 11pm. Don’t tell my mom. She will be mad. I will say there aren’t many folks on the interstate this late at night. We did find one or two that are might need a little visit from the county Sherriff. Holy intoxicated, sleepy or just plain bad drivers. Busy Bee ... read more

The one about the Disney Experience. There are no pictures in today’s blog, , not yet anyway. I have no wifi where I am writing this and I have so many pictures to edit and add here. I want to wait until I get some type of wifi signal in the next few days and will add them when I can. NOTE: I ADDED PICTURES ON THE FLY ONE DAY. SOME TURNED OUT UPSIDE DOWN AND FUNKY. YOU GET THE IDEA. Disney World is such an awesome place. It is impossible not to get wrapped up in the whole excitement of the place. On one of our tram rides someplace I spied a young couple wearing the “I Do” pin Disney provides to the “just marrieds.” They were married 2 days ago and all glowy. Cute ... read more
