Wowo, it’s been quite a string of no blogging. We did a few sold-out shows in Logan, UT, which was great. We played at a university theater, I think, and it was beautiful. The crew and venue were fantastic and just on top of life in general. During the second show, after the video, Sarah was supposed to call cues. She didn’t. My thoughts: Is she dead? If she’s dead, I can’t go check on her for like 4 songs… I’m sure I could call my cues and video cues, but I’m getting nervous. Anyway, turns out her microphone button was not on and she was yelling at us as I was calling cues. Yesterday, we made quite the long trek to Telluride, CO, which is a nice little ski resort, 9000 feet up, and BEAUTIFUL! ... read more

So, remember how we said that this was our great adventure...well the real adventure started on Saturday, when we left the Great Sand Dunes. We headed north, went through Creede, an old mining town, and wanted to take "Highway 110" for the 31 miles from Lake City to Silverton, as it would cut about 100 miles off of our trip. It started out fine, albeit a little surprising, as the road was dirt. We should have known. It gradually got steeper, and narrower, and we eventually passed a sign stating "No campers or trailers past this point. No winter maintenance." We still thought, "No trailer, check. No camper, check. Not winter, check." They neglected to mention that we needed 4-wheel drive and high-clearance, neither of which comes standard with the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. As we continued, ... read more

KELLEY AND DAVE’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE The Big Trip West…Notes From the road: WEEK SIX. Thursday, June 26. We ate our breakfast on the balcony of our room overlooking 5th street while listening to the insistent whistle of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad train calling passengers to board for the 3 ½ hour ride to Silverton. Large, billowing black clouds of smoke marked the progress of the train as it headed north along the Animas River toward Silverton. There was a metallic taste to the air that landed on the tongue and the soot and smell permeated our room long after the train left town. In the brisk Durango mornings I needed long pants and a sweater because for me, 63 degrees is invigorating but still a bit brisk for my Florida sensitivities. Before leaving ... read more

It's been five months since we returned from our two-year-long, 15-country adventure. Within days of our return, reverse culture shock quickly ceded to the bliss of hot showers, comfortable beds, home cooking, and washing machines. After 23 months of laundering clothes by hand in freezing water followed by mosquito-ridden nights on bug-infested beds, America seems truly luxurious. We've been taking advantage of our respective parents' hospitality, staying first with Randy's mom in northern California, and then with Jenny's folks in southwestern Colorado. Spending two years around the Equator didn't exactly prepare us for winter—but getting in some much-anticipated time on the slopes is well worth the chilly hands. My top 3 vacations were: 1. Telluride, CO 2. Siolim, Goa 3. Chail, Shimla Telluride, CO: We drove to Telluride from Phoenix first week of October. Ideally, this is not a journey you want to drive. It goes through the infamous highway 666 in the Navajo ntion. And as luck would have it, we ran into car trouble in the middle of the desert. The drive took us through Tuba - an interesting place with a lot of pre-historic sites, including a dinosaurs foot print. Our car trouble saw us stop over at Farmington. Farmington on a Saturday evening is rather dead. We had dinner at the RiverWalk (Best Western), a fairly good place. The next day we drove through Colorado country. This is a beautiful part of the United States. That we were driving through ... read more

Hey Guys, Hopes you are all doing good! Currently writing this to my own email to add to my travelblog later as the travelblog website is down as it has been for ages! Gash hey! I shall add this and a previous blog update to it when its back up! Last update was at Sante Fe - that evening we had some Southwestern cuisine at a restaurant called "The Shed" - I had an enchilades and taco plate and this stuff was hot hot hot! This place also rumoured to be the home of margaritas - dont know how true that is but I had a couple of fruity ones and they were good! The next day we went to Monument Valley in Utah (one state where no alcohol is allowed - whats that all about?!).. ... read more

...weeeelllll....not EXACTLY - it was more of a "went to Heaven, skied like Hell" (sorry, Nat!)!!!.... To put a label on the first stop of my adventure - I'd describe it as an overall magical experience! Yes - I know - that's a pretty lofty title for ANY experience, but hopefully I'll be able to convey - even a little bit - of just how great the trip was... ...for those who don't know anything about Telluride - it's a small, former mining / prostitution station (so I'm told) with a population of about 4000 in 1900 and 2200 in 2007. And no - that's NOT a typo!!! It's located up in the Colorado Rockies - COMPLETELY isolated from the rest of the major Colorado resort towns - with a BASE altitude of about 9400 feet!!! ... read more

There we are... MARRIED!!! and I am officially Mrs Adam George... So, on the morning of the wedding, we still had no idea where it was all going to happen... the night before, we were hit by a major snow storm. as we had planned on doing it outdoors and had no plan B, we were all a little concerned as to where it was all going to happen. We woke up in the morning and my mum and I went to the hair stylist and make-up stylist to get me all pretty. This happened at the Peaks resort in Telluride. And the women who sold us the bands was our photographer, together with her husband. A friend, Kim Reynolds, lent me her wedding dress. I hadn't planned on wearing a white dress, but since the ... read more

I found myself in Telluride for the weekend, doing some 'research'. Telluride is one of my favorite places of all times. Since most of my time has been spent during the winter - late spring was a new experience. After 9hours of driving there was no more room at the town camping ground, so up Alta Lakes to over 10,000 feet for some national forest camping up past some old mining ghost town. Random scurring animals and what was thought to be a bear trying to get into the car were heard - after investigating nothing was seen. Saturday and part of sunday included 'research' along with some brain exploding cold medicine enhanced singlespeed mountain biking. All too fast it was time to bust back through the 4corners, across the painted desert, through Flagstaff and down ... read more
