California was great. I'm such a fan of northern California. It's incredibly laid back and oh so very quaint. We both began and ended our trip in San Francisco, a city that I would go back and visit today if I could. After a long, but enjoyable flight, we got to California late at night; that in itself was spectacular. All I could see for the longest time were dots of light in the hills from all the surrounding homes and whatnot and black water below. It was like landing in outerspace where all you could see were stars. Once we landed, we waited in line for what seemed like an eternity to get our rental car. By time we got the car, all of us were extremely tired and just went to our first ... read more

Well, San Francisco: I LOVE YOU! Our first little stint in San Fran barely did it justice. Now that we've had time to walk around and take in the city... it is just so cool. I have never felt so in tune with a city than I have here in Frisco. I even love how harmonious the town is within itself. Even though there are a multitude of different, unique neighborhoods with their own culture and denizens, at first glance they all seemed to be fairly tolerant. Now, if I were to go to law school here and actually spend some real time here, I may find a different story; however, I think first impressions are pretty important and do mean something. I think the best thing that I loved about San Francisco, or at least ... read more

We woke up in the hot, dry, Napa Valley and fell asleep in the cool, coastal Mendocino area (more specifically Fort Bragg). It was pretty uneventful, but undoubtably beautiful. It's like you're in the quaint California countryside, and then all of a sudden you're in the mountains. And I don't mind at all. Mendocino's a real hippie town - it's full of intertwining gardens that boast plants not readily found in the great state of Illinois and little shops. I love the fog that surrounds the area from the Pacific. We pretty much just walked around all day, taking lunch in a home deli and getting coffee in little standing room only cafes. So quaint! We ate in Fort Bragg, which is definitely more fisherman town than Mendocino. We also took a stop at what is ... read more

Where the hell am I? Well that's a question I seem to be asking myself more and more these days, of course from a purly literal level I am still in lovely California, although I've switched locations and moved a little further up the coast to Santa Monica where I have been staying in the Doubletree Hotel on 4th street. 3 blocks from the beach and just a short hop from the 3rd street promenade. My current partners in crime are J. (john) Reed, former roommate from USC campus housing, and one Andrew Stevens, a fellow USC film pupil from the good state of North Carolina where he operated as a professional fraternity brother which as far as I can tell involved a lot of drinking and um...fratrinizing with associated sororities. Anyway here I am wittling ... read more

Hi there all. Well, have arrived "Up Over". Am currently at the tail end of 30 hours of sleep deprivation. It's evening here in LA...7:15pm and it's still bright! Joy of summer. Had a good time before I left. Many emails and an awesome Arctic Lemon cake by my boss, complete with animals and marshmallows for icebergs went down a treat. Also had lunch with family and friends which was great. Had a huge list of chores to get done before I went and got most of them done. Was up at 4am on Saturday to catch the flight to Sydney. After quickly procuring a copy of the latest Harry Potter novel, we boarded the flight to LA. It was very bumpy for sometime. I didn't get any sleep seeing I just kept getting disturbed by ... read more

This last year has flown by. It seems like I was talking to Lloyd about if we were going to travel or not the other day. Planning this trip over the past 9 months has been amazing. The whole idea of taking this trip started when Lloyd and I shared a room fall quarter because he quite his job as a Resident Adviser in the dorms to pursue the life of a Bartender...I think it worked out well. I was in a journalism class and we were asked to buy three magazines that we would potentially like to write for. One of my magazines was National Geographic Traveler. The lead article was Around the World in 80 destinations. After looking through the magazine Lloyd and I somehow got to talking about traveling. I don't remember who ... read more

If they don't win it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes You're out At the old ball game. I went to my first Baseball game on Tuesday night, and is was so much fun. Unfortunately the LA Dodgers lost against Philly, oh well, but it was great anyway. I loved the kiss cam interval, it was quite humorous. Also Americans will get up and start dancing even when SOBER! wow! The whole atmosphere was quite a festivity. I'd hate to forget where i parked there though, massive carpark (for their massive cars) and the whole place was full. ... read more

Hey everyone! Today marks the one week point since we left our little home back in Irvine, California. We are currently living it the Italian way. Walking up and down crowded streets and jumping from bus to bus. The past 7 days have taken us through New York, Madrid, Pisa, Florence and Rome. We are now on the way to Assisi and Venice. We have enjoyed every minute of it; the architecture, history, art, etc. Also, we apoligize for the lack of updates. We haven't had the accessibilty or time. We'll try to keep up on the updates whenever possible. Thanks! Love, The Ganddinis... read more
