So I know I said I wasnt going to go to the Warner Brothers Tour today, but when I went to book last night, spots had opened up for today, so I managed to go. It was so much fun. They took us on a tour of the backlot of the studios, where we got to see lots of where Pretty Little Liars and True Blood was being shot. None of that actually meant anything to me, but we also saw some spots where outdoor scenes of Friends were shot, including where Rachel and Phoebe go running, where Ross plays rugby and where Rachel and Monica meet Jean Claude Van Dame. We also went inside the Gellars house and saw the staurcase Ross comes down to try to take Rachel to the prom, and the kitchen ... read more

Today was the last day of my trip. I was running low on money so I decided to do a tour of celebrity homes, since it was cheap and lasted a while. Our guide was really good. He actually works as a red carpet interviewer, and as a correspondant with Southern Cross Networks in Australia. Instead of doing the regular tour, he has contacts that slip him extra information about where celebrities live, so we did his special tour. It was so cool, for 1.5hrs we drove around the Hollywood Hills, stopping every minute or so to see someone elses house. It was definitely a good way to kill time, but I'm sure it would have been so much better if I was actually into movies and TV more than I am. The ticket for that ... read more

Today I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain! I wont really go into too much detail about today, because if I sat here describing every rollercoaster I went on, I would be here forever. When I arrived at the park I went to get my Platinum Flash Pass. Basically what this does is you can cut most of the line, and you can ride most rides twice in a row. It was well worth it if you are a ride fanatic. All in all I managed 22 rollercoasters: Tatsu(x2), Viper(x3), Revolution, Goliath(x4), Batman(x4), Scream!(x2), Ridler's Revenge(x2), Goldrush, Colossus, X2 and Green Lantern. Some of these rides were so different to others I've been on. For example, Ridler's Revenge is a stand up rollercoasrer, and Tatsu has you on your stomach, going face first (like superman would ... read more

What a long and annoying day! Basically it just involved travel. Left the hostel at 10.30am and arrived at the Hollywood hostel at 5.00pm, and that was with a time change too. My flight started off ok, I got moved to a bulkhead seat, which meant I had more leg room. Unfortunately I was with a couple that had a toddler. As toddlers do, she cried the whol trip. And to make matters worse, the mother sang Justin Bieber to try and calm her down. How frustrating! Anyway after I got to the hostel I went out and got some dinner on Hollywood Boulevard, which is half a block from the hostel. While walking I was on the phone to Mum and Dad and saw some famous people's stars, so I wll go back to get ... read more

I have so many trips possibly coming up and am so excited about them all I really want a way to remember them all! (As if I don't take enough pictures and have enough scrap books piling up) It looks like next week I'll be heading from LA down to San Diego to work with one of my favorite photographers. I most likely won't be staying this trip, but always love the drive and finding an amazing place to eat after work! The week after that I'll be heading to Vegas for a week of work and fun! I hope to spend time hiking and exploring at Red Rock Canyon -which is always one of my favorite things to do, going to the Hoover Dam, and possibly exploring Lake Mead. After Vegas I'll be home for ... read more

My flight literally flew by- I was sat next to a guy from Tobago so we were chatting about that for most of the journey. He also persuaded me to have whisky (straight)- 5 bottles of it in total! He has headed up to San Francisco now to see friends. I think this was a good thing as he had a 'weed pass'- basically looks like a drivers license but instead of permitting you to drive a car, it permits you to smoke as much weed as you want! So yesterday I woke up very early at half 5 (probably had something to do with going to bed at 8pm- stupid jet lag!). Anyway I got up when it got light and went downstairs to make a pancake- my initial plan was to make several but ... read more

My first impression of LA was smoggy and dirty. In contrast to San Francisco, LA seemed like a ghetto and dangerous place to live in. Iconic Hollywood sign was not that impressive as well. Beverly Hills had a grandeur mansions but I had seen better big mansions in Maryland. Standing right next to the palm tree felt like I was in a foreign country.... read more

I went to a play in Hollywood. It was Pulp Fiction set during medieval times. Then a cooking class overlooking Hollywood Blvd. Then I visited MOCA. After that it was Archery in Pasadena. This was all spread out across various weekends throughout November. I just had to get out of the house. My grampa was on his death bed and I didn't know how else to process it.... read more

Our drive from Las Vegas to California was very scenic and at one point we drove through clouds as we crossed the mountains. Darise said it looked like we were in Heaven. It was a peaceful and beautiful moment. Soon after, we were in Los Angeles and were thrilled when we saw the Hollywood sign in the hills. We felt instantly famous and were waiting to be discovered. The next day, a dream came true for Darise as we were on The Price is Right. We didn’t get called down, but we did a lot of cheering and clapping. We were the last to leave the studio so we decided to go to contestant’s row. There we were; all four of us lined up making imaginary bids. It was fun and even the announcer, George Gray, ... read more

So I have not made an entry for a few days but alot has happened on my holiday, will start with yesterday. Drove to Santa Monica with a fellow traveller. The distance between Hollywood and Santa Monica suprised, this is a very expansive town (also noticed this last night at a lookout in the Hollywood hills) and the traffic was full-on especially driving back during the 'peak-hour'. My travel companions and I hired various forms of transport on the beach to enable us to venture up to Venic Beach, I chose the rollerblades, there is a first time for everything, though I was slow and unsteady initially, i improved and towards the last 40 minutes of a roughly 2 hour trek was navigating my way caustiously through people along the Venice beach strip. There was an ... read more
