Places Visited:- Puerto Vallarta, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco and Puerto Escondido. After the train journey we arrived into Los Mochis at 11pm and managed to get an overnight bus South towards Puerta Vallarta (14 hours away). The bus journey wasn’t as bad as most as once the sun rose the scenery was great. They should rename the Pacific Coast the green coast as everywhere was covered in an array of different shades of green with lots of types of trees and shrubs. It made me think of what a beautiful place this is and how luck I am to see it, not something I think too much about usually at 6am, especially on a bus! It put me in a great mood and revitalised the energy of a now old 30 year old! When we arrived we were ... read more

Don't go! Don't go! Its dangerous. Dodgy, dirty. Scream the locals from Mexico and California alike. Armed with little more than a passport and a mere trickel of money we ventured over. Curious, intrigued, yet the entire time cautious of the many scams we had heard horror stories about many times over. Treading further past the boarder, our guards were at the ready, cat like reflexes ready to dodge the flow of bullets and knives surely coming our way. Despeart locals trying to steal their way through life. Still further we walked, no, no taxis they're run by the mafia (supposedly) they'll take you for a ride for sure. Plus downtown's only a ten minute walk away... Minutes pass, ten in fact, after we start to realise nobody here is threatening, not on the main streets ... read more

School, but you all knew that. What is worth noting is the fillet steak Ed had at 'Truco 7' for 65 pesos, US$6.50, about £3.25. Washed down with a glass of the house red. We had a happy, but more importantly, full Ed for a few hours. And we didn't even go over the budget for this pleasure. La mercancía debe ir acompañada de una factura pro forma. ... read more

I haven't had a weekend in like five years. I, of course, mean that in the most positive of sense. Nearly everyday for the past five years, has been what regular people would consider a weekend. Sure, I had class, obligations, etcetera... but for the most part I could get drunk every night. But for the first time since, high school, I felt like my monday through friday warranted an actual weekend... that is, something to look forward to. On the friday of my first weekend back in the game (being a member of mainstream society, ie. holding a job.) I went to a concert. We saw this band called Babasonicos, they are from Argentina. It's an uncommon occurrence for a band with such (partial) fame to come to Pachuca. I think its equivalent to The ... read more

The inevitable has happened and the weekend is over; we're back in our routine of beginning lessons at 9am. Schooldays don't make good blog entries, so we won't go on just for the sake of it. Our day and our mood can be summarised by pointing out that learning grammar is boring. We made a bit more progress with getting our photos online, and did some planning of our upcoming whistlestop tour of Central America. We will be well acquainted with bus stations by the time we reach Colombia. Adios chicos... ... read more

Sunday morning came bright and hot as if nothing had ever happened. These flowers bloomed in their magnificence as if to say Praise the Lord just as soon as the sun shone again. Everything was life as normal and the airport reopend. The holiday had been fantastic but we were happy to be going home once again. A brief stopover in LA made everyone want to take our next trip back to see more of that city and probably some baseball. ... read more

The show went well considering all of the problems that started out the evening. At one point during that evening, Leonardo left for the hotel to change. Upon his return, told us that the lock to the door of our room was broken and the doorman had to break into our room. The result was that Martin and I lost our spacious room and were put in a room that was super damp and smelled musty. Being as tired as we were it didn't really matter much. We woke up on Sunday and went to the restaurant in the hotel. MMmmmmm...coffee. We watched a mix of soccer and Mexican wrestling on the TVs around the room. After brunch we gathered our equipment and belongings and met Leonardo's father and brother and sent everything back to their ... read more
