Last week Hailey Troock and I took off in the little toyota and headed West. After meeting up with some of her Big White Aussies, we started our mini adventure to Victoria and Tofino, on Vancouver Island. It was a very much needed trip after the second semester of our fourth year of uni. Lindsay is still in Kelowna, but getting ready to head up to the Yukon and then off to Mexico for another semester abroad. It will be a season of travelling for us both, and hopefully our paths will cross a few more times before our planes take off. Hailey and the boys have continued on toward Kelowna so that the car is back before Hailey's dad comes home tomorrow morning from Alberta! I am staying in Victoria for the summer, living ... read more

CANADA North America » Canada » New Brunswick By Dwight BrendaMay 3rd 2007 HELLO TO ALL IN GEORGIA, WE ARE NOW IN CANADA. GOING THRU CUSTOMS WAS INTERESTING. WE HAD TO GET OUT OF THE MOTORHOME AND THEY WENT IN AND SEARCHED. TOOK US ABOUT AN HOUR TO GET THRU. THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT WE HAD TO GET RID OF. MADE US NERVOUS, EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T THINK WE WOULD HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. CANADA IS BEAUTIFUL. STILL A LOT OF SNOW EVERYWHERE. WE STAYED AT LAKE LOUISE LAST NIGHT AND WENT TO THE LAKE THIS MORNING. IT IS FROZEN SOLID. DROVE ALL DAY THRU SOME BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS. ALL COVERED WITH SNOW. IT IS REALLY COLD. I MISS SUMMER ALREADY. ARDITH SAID THAT THE KIDS WENT SW... read more

As my first entry, I have to say that the anticipation of going on my dream excursion to the Mediterranean is getting intense. I have been working hard at work and am feeling a desire to turn it all off. That time is about to happen very shortly. I cannot wait! My mom is flying in tomorrow at 3:00 pm in Calgary. It will be nice to see her and feel the excitement together. I guess I better tidy up the house a bit. :-) 2 more sleeps... then off to Athens on my newest adventure... ... read more

Said goodbye to Ange early and to Andy and Alain at the airport. Tough security at the LA airport with everyone removing shoes belts etc. Found a network for the computer but ran out of time to subscribe before we were called to board. Less than impressed by our first encounter with Air Canada. An international flight lasting 4 hours and 45 minutes leaving LA at 12.15 pm and we had to pay for food. A grumpy taxi driver finally got us to our B&B and we were welcomed by the "boys" Frank & Tan. Tomorrow we take a tour to Niagara Falls. Will post photos from there with next blog entry. ... read more

Hey everyone sorry we've been slacking on whats been going on. We flew back to Canada on April 22 and are currently in Manitoba. Dave and I are staying with my sister Nadine, and helping my dad on the farm. We will be in Manitoba until the wedding. Before we left Europe we spent a week in Edinburgh Scotland, staying with a friend of my sisters. Edinburgh is a great city and we didn't get to see even half of it. We spent pretty much the entire week walking up and down the Royal Mile doing the touristy stuff along the way. The Royal Mile is the mile long road that connects Edinburgh Castle to the Queens Palace. There was lots of things to see and do, and with our pass that we bought we ... read more

After an emotional 12 days during my very first WWOOF experience normality resumed as I set sail to Vancouver Island. After 2 longs days of travel, buses and lugging my life around in my bag I arrived at the Tsawwassen Ferry crossing. The crossing was so beautiful with contrast of clouds and sun as we split between the island and main land. It was so nice to be leaving the clouds behind and heading towards the beaches and beauty of the island! We meandered through Saltspring, Galiano, Ganges & San Juan and the scenery was just breathtaking. The emerald green sea set again the blue skies and island coastline bursting with green and trees and pretty little coastal houses! It was spectacular and I was so glad I had left all of that behind me! ... read more

My first entry in our travel blog is coming from James's mom's living room at about 1:20am. We are doing some last minute surfing, and basically trying to book things so when we get to London James will be let into the country with no problems! This past week has been crazy with packing up our whole apartment, and putting everything we own into storage. Even though we've done all this moving, it still hasn't really sunk in that we're going to Europe tomorrow. I'm super excited! I guess the next time you'll hear from me will be from the UK somewhere. Once we get to London we are planning to drive to Darlington (northern England) to pick up Ernie! He's our new VW van that we bought on ebay over the weekend. He's sweet....I'll ... read more

After an emotional and tiring pusuit of happiness I arrived in beautiful Victoria! The first thing I did was grab an ice cold beer and endulged in doing absolutely nothing! I walked, I sketched, I listened to some blissfully sweet music and enjoyed Victoria by both day and night! My plans were to stay there for 4 days however I struck gold when I met some cool English peeps who were driving to Tofino the following day!... read more
