Was it a dream? Took me a while to get to bed last night. The baby usually sleeps through till morning, but for some reason she woke at 12 wanting an extra feed. All fed and watered she got into bed with us and fell off into a deep sleep. I followed very soon after her, I was exhausted after a day of entertianing. 1.43AM omg bed shaking, whats going on.... I was physically wiggle woggled out of my bed. I looked over to see my hubby snoring sweetly and baby didnt stir. Im standing by the bed with my heart pounding, things rattling and clanking around me. After a short while silence fell. I run into the bedrooms of my 2 other children and they are both sleeping sweetly. My adrenaline is rushing and ... read more

FUN LAND !! There are very few play areas for children that are indoor, so when I come across one I like to share it's information. Fun Land is an indoor childrens play area which consists of a large climbing sliding soft play area, arcade type games, and some small scale fair rides. Its very very cheap at fun land. All rides are 250 fils (except soft play area/ climbing frames, this is 1kd per child but they get to stay in as long as they like and go in and out for drinks etc). You purchase a plastic swipe card nd add as much or as little as you like. Theres a man who sits in a booth at one end of the room and he adds credit to your card (he isnt always sitting ... read more

Laura's Pregnant!!! Whoo Hoo!!! Oh and by the way, I'm in Kuwait on my way back to FOB Iskan. Brief Recap of July: I spent most of the month on convalescent leave. Normally I would have gotten 14 day of con leave, but since I spent a good chunk or my R&R going to doctor visits, they gave me 30 days off. They wouldn't have had anything that I could do on Rear D anyway. Physical therapy took up about two hours three times a week, so I had plenty of time to spend with the family. We had a good number of nice days in July, so we did spend a lot of time outside grilling, taking walks, and playing in the pool. Honestly, right now I can't think of anything else that we did; ... read more

So, I've been here in Kuwait for about 2 weeks now. I'm just now getting a cance to use my own computer on the internet. it's not so bad here... I'm living in a tent on a cot, with about 20 other girls. It's air conditioned, and although you have to walk a mile to get to anything, there's a Taco Bell, Subway, Burger King, coffee place, pizza place, and many call centers and internet cafes. The dining facility is better than any of the ones I ate at back in the states, and they ALWAYS have grilled cheese. The only real downfall is that I found out I have eczema. I've had it for the last two weeks and just now found out what it was. But at least now it's treatable. I've done four ... read more

Dear Everybody, Some of you may have gotten this on email already. I had not yet sterilized this website. I had to take all last names, unit information, etc. off so that I could use it. I will use this website to keep you all updated. So if you post comments, please don't post last names From the email: I’m in Kuwait right now on my way to Iraq. Laura is still in Alaska with Jaeden and Selah. Please pray for us. Pray for my safe return to my family. Pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort Laura and the girls and keep them safe while I’m gone. If you want to get in touch with me, email is the only way; but please call Laura to encourage her and to let her know that you’re ... read more

I hope someone read that title and freaked out…... I have been on my little journey for about 3 weeks now o an update is well over due. So, everything is going……. (drumroll) really rather well. I will sum up some basic stuff/events in a few witty-ish bulletpoints: - 45 degrees weather does feel quite normal after a couple of days, I play football sometimes in the midday heat - "Mad dogs and Englishmen" etc, but you get used to it. As long as your're downing 3/4 litres per hour of sport everything seems OK, only collapsed once during sport activities. - Have joined lots of clubs to keep myself busy and sporty (lack of alcohol DOES actually make you more active - I always thought that was a myth). Clubs including Tennis club, local footy ... read more

This journal account is primarily about what happens from the time after September 06 in Kuwait, but feel that a quick recap of the 26 odd year before 06 might help give a more rounded picture. So.... here goes (Will be like the Reduced Shakespeare Society etc) So, were born in January 1980 to parents, Roy and Jacki, in Poole - Dorset. Waiting for me was my big sister Jayne who arrived a couple of years before me. Oh, and Filley - pet English Setter Dog. Parents moved us to Seaford (sussex) 3 months after my birth and Tamsyn (second sister) was born in 1983. Ummm everything else was pretty standard for a few years. No major events or issues, very 'normal' childhood if such a thing exists.... Morgan (Great Munsterlander dog joined the pack in ... read more

I had always wanted to see the Kuwait Towers in person. The architecture of them is amazing to me! I finally set out to do just that on May 31, 2006. I would also visit the Kuwait Hard Rock Cafe while there. I departed Indy to Philadelphia in the early afternoon on a Northwest Airlink CRJ-200 aircraft. After a few hours at PHL, I caught British Airways flight 66, a 777 to London and they upgraded me to business class! I arrived early the next morning into London and waited a few hours again for Kuwait Airways 104, another 777. I was really impressed with the Kuwait service! We arrived into Kuwait in the early evening and the sun was still out. The visa process was not quick but after about an hour I was out ... read more

Just had to rave about this place This week myself and a group of friends decided to go some where different for our breakfast outing (we try to go as often as possible using the excuse that we are researching eateries in kuwait hehe). This week we decided to try a Lebanese restaurant we had seen close to a place called Fresh where my friends have eaten before. The food, service and surroundings were so good, I rushed back here to tell you all about it. Anyone who is alredy in Kuwait MUST go and try this place out. Its called Al Berdawny (find it at this link http://alberdawny.com/index.html ) When you first arrive, the thing that strikes you the most is the beauty of the restaurant itself. Its very castle looking with the most ... read more
