I just bought a plane ticket for Berlin. I don't know why. Maybe because it was only 40 bucks round trip. There is something fishy about that. Anyway, I leave on the 19th and get back in London the 22nd, at which point I will prompty skive all classes and stay the night because I don't have classes Wednesday. Going crazy trying to get everything in before it's time to leave. Guy Fawkes Day is Sat. night. Harry Potter premiere is Sun., but i dont know wbout going because french is kicking my ass back to the U.S. right now. Bigggg French paper due next week. Then, we leave for Amsterdam that Sat. I am sure there will be some interesting stories from that one.... read more

Thursday mornings are soo early after Wednesdays. But I have to go to class and today was no exception. Today in Nott'm: Making of a Provincial City (which hereafter will be reffered to as Nott'm City class) was another seminar...one that was pretty interesting but kinda of common knowledge, particularly in the history of England. Topic of discussion: Health and Housing. The group did a really good job presenting the info and it's quite amazing that the class actually took up the 2 hr slot. If you really want to know more about the slum conditions and horrible sanitation of provincial towns I'll let you know at another time. Let's just say that it's not pretty but then again they were kinda caught off guard. After class I headed home for a bit and found a ... read more

Well I was born into a very travel minded family, my dad loves jet setting around the globe, both my sisters have done their fare share, the same as mum. I moved to Sydney at the tender age of 19, with no job no money and no friend, pretty big step for a girl who previous to that had only just moved out of home. After a few months I returned to NZ, feeling a little deflated as it didn't go according to the wild plans that I had in mind. But being the person I am I saved up and decided to follow a friend to America. I loved it there, and spend 5 months touring around the fanatastic place, hoping to get discovered, I lived in LA. After my visa expired I made a ... read more

Oh well, this has been a stressful week what with packing everything and the same old fearful thought ''hmmm, I've packed everything but I'm sure I've left something behind....- I'll just unpack my bags to make sure....ARRGHH!!!'' lingering in my mind all day for the last fortnight Anyway this is where the dream pretty much kicks off, only 2 days to go 'til I leave Gods' country.... in the meantime I've been having numerous farewell drinking-dos and I don't think my body can hold out any longer. While I'm writing this my liver is still on fire from last night...... Anyway, I'd better sign off early here, we wouldn't want a ghostface arriving on the first day would we..... ... read more

What is it that suddenly makes those of us who are pre destined to travel, work up the courage (and the money) to finally decide that this is the time in our lives when we can no longer handle the well worn path that we have tramped along for so long? When all of a sudden you stop and take a look around your homeland and decided to leave everything and everyone that you hold dear in search of something thrilling and unknown. Maybe it's the draw that there is something out there that is calling you that is trying to attract your attention. Maybe it's the undeniable fact you want to find love? Maybe it's the idea that if you remain there you will never ever find out what is on the other side? ... read more

What a brilliant morning....and a gloomy afternoon. Morning: I went to my post-1945 class and learned about the end of empire, mainly for Britain and France. It was pretty interesting, however the prof talked a mile a minute and even ended early!!! This class is only an hour long to begin with so you think she could have maybe slowed it down a bit...geez! Anyways, after class I returned some books to the library and succeeded in printing off the agenda for class tomorrow morning. However, I failed to look up books so the internet shall have to suffice. I will look up the info but time (and energy) ran out. Afternoon: I went to the Portland building to grab some lunch (I love cheese & tomato baguettes!! so goood.) I read a bit of the ... read more

Spent today on the phone to District Council - I still have to pay half of my council tax even though I am not in the country for a year until such times as my house is let?? Think that I have done everything that needs doing. Hope so anyway. Also spent time answering e-mails and texts asking where are the photos!! OK, I thought that I had cracked it. Let's try again. ... read more

WOOOOOOOOOO - This place is awesome - Edinburgh is one seriously cool Old Skool town. It's filled with heaps of wicked Gothic buildings and Castles and has a awesome atmosphere with heaps of young peolpe. Me and Russ took a couple of days off work and cruised to Edinburgh to chill with Tim and Sam. It was awesome to catch up. We had a couple of wicked nights out on the town, checked out the city, played with some mean fireworks (roman candle battles - yeah) and enjoyed the scottish accents. We loved this place so much that we are thinking of living there for a couple a months some time soon. This is a big blog dudes, including a bit of London Stuff. I checked out my first big football game (cheers Bonesy) which was ... read more
