Today was a mainland day travelling from Ballachulish North and East to begin visiting the small isles. The day set off dry and cloudy but by the time we had crossed the Ballachulish Bridge over Loch Leven and the Corran Ferry across Loch Linnhe it had started to drop some light rain. We persevered without too much stress against the wind to the top of the loch where we could see Fort William across the other side with Ben Nevis covered in cloud, as it is for 300 days of the year, unlike yesterday when we had a magnificent view of its snow capped peak. Each time I create a blog entry I intend to write a long essay about my travels. It never gets written because it takes time to upload photos and make comments. This will be another blog with tons of pictures; I think they are the best part of the blog. When I am in Poland, I might not have access to computers to upload photos, so I might get to write those long, reflective essays. I do think alot when on trains and buses, and I compose some marvelous text in my head. The only insight that I'd like to share with you right now is that I should change the term 'year off' (that describes my year) with 'year on' because every day is filled with new experiences and challenges. Well Easter's arrived, I've survived a Scottish winter. Despite being repeatedly told it was a very very mild winter, I felt sufficiently cold enough to require wearing an entire wardrobe of clothes a day. With the weather warming, forecast looking promising Anna, Fergus and myself decided to head to highlands for an Easter camping break. Upon making this decision there was a rapid purchase of tent, camping stove, sleeping bag and inflatable mattress…..kneel and pray to the ebay Gods! We set of on Saturday after a brief stay in Stirling, heading toward an increasingly dark cloud, which apparently was exclusively extended over Arisaig, west coast of Scotland, on the Road to the Isles.
