Hi all, my title comes from one of the many quotes that came about when i was sat in our local pub discussing my trip with my friends...they had images of me trekking through the wilderness carrying my backpack for 6 months straight!! (had they not been reading my blogs!!)...anyway I'm back up north (where we talk funny apparently!!) after landing in London i headed for Kent and stayed with my boyfriend and did the touristy London bit as usual I relised just how much of a rush everyone seems to be in over here...I just wanted to say to them all just slow down!! We saw the Shrek 3 premiere which was my highlight (he looks much greener in real life!!) it was only spoilt by someone clambering up my shoulders to get a better ... read more

All being well I'll be flying out to Vanvouver the middle of August. So, quick one before dinner and my walking ghost tour of the "Most Haunted City in England." Good day so far, hanging out with some peope, seeing the sights. Having dinner in 30 minutes, but wanted to post something today, in case I don't get the chance later. Getting to be better friends with the Australians, very nice people, as you would expect. The ride in was rather uneventful with one kind of cool stop off. The truck stops in the UK are awesome. Really cool restauraunts, slot machine rooms, big bathrooms with strange urinals. Would have taken a pic of one, but was not sure on the British attitude towards bathroom photography. It was very nice, almost bought a DVD of "Hot Fuzz" but it would have worked out to $40, and that seemed a ... read more

So we arrived in London yesterday at 9:20am local time. (1:20am in Victoria), and didn't go to bed until after 9:00pm that evening. After being awake for 30 hours we were beyond exhausted, so we didn't get up to too much the first day. We made it to Dan H's house, got cleaned up, and headed out at about 3. We went to Greenwich which was pretty neat, the park was beautiful and we got to stand on both side of the prime meridian at one time. We went out for dinner after that, and wandered around London trying to stay awake until we finally crashed! Today we went for lunch in Hyde park,, (Marks and Spencers, YUM!), then got tickets and went to see a matinee for the west-end show chicago! I loved the production, ... read more

June 22 @ 10:09 p.m. London, what a cool place. In my honest opinion, it resembles Seoul in so many ways. The subway system, the way there are no frekn’ street name signs, the smell, the weather, the cigarette smoke, how the light switch is outside of the bathroom... So I’ll tell you how I got here, I arrived around noon local time, something like 3 a.m. LA time. I was tired, but the flight wasn’t too bad, but I was worried that I met get sick because the girl next to me was coughing. I knew I should’ve taken an airborne before I got on. Needless to say, I took it as soon as I got off. My first purchase was a bottle of water: .90 pounds. That’s roughly $1.80. Ridiculous, huh? Everything here ... read more

Well, what can we say. This was an amazing little trip & one we won't forget. London & the greater UK for that matter really fires up for summer music festivals. There seems to be one on every other week & finally it was our turn - Glastonbury ! The lead up was exciting with the full line up only released a week before the main event. The only concern was to be the weather with many photos of a flooded glastonbury doing the rounds. We weren't too keen to see our own tent floating away. Troy & Carrie happened to purchase a camper van for their upcoming euro adventure, so we got refunds on our train tickets & piled into 'bambi' (a suitable name for the cosy little van). The grounds open on a ... read more

Home to LondonNicole H Things I have learned about London so far... 1. It is probably the most complicated place I have been in my WHOLE life 2. Just because the people here speak English doesnt mean you can understand them 3. The pidgeons here tend to waddle and run they dont fly, which is really strange because you just walk along with them trotting along beside you 4. People at information booths have no information however, they will call you love and darling 5. I will never ever ever travel alone again ever! 6. London is very expensive, you think things are cheap but then you think about how much it is in dollars and it is very expensive 7. Luggage is very heavy when you have to tote it around the streets of London ... read more

London Part I Monday, June 18- We were up at the crack of dawn to go to London. We had to be packed and ready to go at 7. So that meant that we had to wake up extra early to stuff all of our belongings into our bags. Our driver arrived promptly at seven and we were off to our next plane ride. We arrived at the airport and checked in with British Airways. Next thing I knew there was a team of very attractive college guys walking by. They were by far the best Paris had to offer. After getting a good helping of eye candy we had to wait in line to go through customs. After that we went through the security check and let me tell you, I didn’t feel very ... read more
