So Capernwray is finally over. It feels like it just began yesturday. It was so incredibly hard to say good bye yet I am so happy that I left having made so many absolutely amazing friends who have become such a huge part of my heart and life! I truly appreciate your prayers, God is constantly answering them. On the 6 hour bus ride to London through the night I was watching out the window; as the windshield wipers were clearing away the rain and the bus continued forward and I realized how well it depicted God in my life. I went through every single memory I could remember from being 3 years old to meeting each and every person I met at Capernwray(one by one) and just thought of the good times and the bad, ... read more

Hello, again! Hope everyone's had a good weekend and hopefully better weather than what we had here! I had a fabulous weekend... saw/learned some cool stuff, established some good travel stories, got to know a few more people in my program, and over all just had fun. Yesterday we got up early to see the "Trooping of the Colour" which in essence celebrates the Queen's "birthday" (or more technically, the date of which she became Queen). It's sort of like a parade... the British guards and bands march starting at Buckingham Palace and then down towards a street called The Mall (mall as in shall) and so on... The British Guards were followed by others riding horses and what not, then the Royal Family (Camilla, William, Harry, etc.), and then the Queen herself rides in ... read more

Had a leisurely ride back into Austria to camp at a lovely site beside Turner See, overlooking the mountains in Slovenia and wondering how we ever managed to get across them. Cycled virtually all the way into Klagenfurt on a beautiful cycle path beside a river/dam for hydroelectic power. The path delivered us right to the campsite that we first used, and the next day the cycle path delivered us right to the airport. If only it were that easy over here.... read more

Off in search of another real little English village, we set off to the Kent area for another day trip. And a little English village we did find. Goudhurst came complete with a duck pond, confused ducks that were intent on getting to the other side of the road, a very expensive pub, a slighty un-nearving diary owner, a dressage competition with lots of pretty ponies (joy!) and a pizzeria that had run out of pizzas. After a bit of a look-about, we made our way along the upcoming Tour de France route and found a great pub near Sissinghurst. All our meals were fantastic but Susi's beautiful ploughmans platter was declared the winner on the day. Sissinghurst Gardens treated us to some lovely weather and the English gardens were stunning. Check out the photo Susi ... read more

Weekend in England! Europe » United Kingdom » England » London » Marble Arch By Sabrinas TravelsJune 17th 2007 On Thursday, I flew to england with some friends from the group and hung out in London for while. It was my first experience with Ryan air, very interesting may I add. So far, almost everyone I know has lost a bag some way or another. The first two days were traveling around London, then I went up North a bit to some lake to get on my first wakeboarding experience. It was painful, and unproductive really. Didn't even get up! ... read more

Just a quick post, nothing much to say, still no work but not really fussed (yet) but am signing up with a third temp agency on Monday so might get something out of them - the other two temp agencies have been useless so far. Booked tickets for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in early August, really looking forward to that as I enjoyed myself when I went in 2004. So far I'm seeing Adam Hills and Tripod (yes bloody aussie comedians) and Jason Byrne (at least he's pom, a mental one at that). Went to gigs on Wednesday and Saturday night but I wont bore you with the details - I had a good time at both at least! A bit of a hangover was had on Thursday and Sunday :-) Weather has been a tad ... read more

our camping adventures Europe » United Kingdom » England » Hampshire » Hayling Island By kiter daveJune 17th 2007 Our first weekend away to the coast and Dave could actually go kite surfing. We started off at one beach called west wittering and they declared that as a private beach where we would of had to pay £240 to have a membership then they would see if they could allow us to use their beach. We told them to F*#@ off and went to another beach around the corner for free which was called hayling isalnd. The down fall was that ... read more

Every year a fun bike race is held between London and Brighton, and before you ask the answer is no - we were strictly spectating! However, Jess's boyfriend Shaun and Shaun's dad were entered in the race so Jess took us on a trip to the seaside to meet them at the finish line. We left London by train at around 9.30am and got to Brighton at about 11. It was a beautiful day and the boys weren't expected to get in until about midday (they left at 7.30) so we had a wander around the town, making our way to the Pier which dominates the beach. The Pier at Brighton is much more exciting than the Pier at New Brighton in Christchurch. Instead of a long walk to nowhere it has pubs, cafes, a gaming ... read more

Hello Family & Friends, Jon and I are so happy that we have started our 2007 European Summer Vacation!!! Camille, Jon and I left Palm Springs yesterday and flew from LAX to Heathrow London. We managed to get 6 bags and 2 hat boxes all on Virgin Atlantic. We arrived here at the Chelsea Harbor Wydham hotel just in time for dinner and then off to bed. I was hoping that I would be as lucky as our last trip and not succumb to the jet lag monster. But, there was no such luck. I have been awake since 1:30 in the morning and it is currently 5:50 am. We are looking forward to a day of shopping and fun in London. That is when everyone else is AWAKE! Love Always, Kelly ... read more
