Its me, Jen and Mel off to Glastonbury for the weekend. 137,000 people in one place at one time makes 20,000 at Summadayze look kinda small. So its Friday, i've got the day off work, we're 2 hours on a bus to Bristol and then we're 45 mins from the biggest gig of my life. Well, 45 minutes if you know where it is. 2 hours or so later and we're dragging our gear through 3 inches of mud and trying to find somewhere to camp. Friday night we found some food and then headed down to the main stage to watch the Fratelli's. I want to see Xavier Rudd over at the Avalon tent so I head off to Australia-Fest and a bit of a party. I've seen him four or five times and this ... read more

This trip was vonderfull, because we visited Glastonbury. At first we travelled for 2 hours. Than we were in the Wookey Hole. It was marvellous because I like caves and different mystorious places. After Wookey Hole we were in the Glastonbury. I marked that there were a lot of interesting people. I saw some people who were strange. Else there are many shops with books and different interesting things about magic. We were there for 2 hours after we came back in Weymouth. ... read more

When I went to Glastonbury, I thought that it would be very boring. but it wasn't. First of all we went to the cave, where many years ago lived a witch. And our guide told us how this cave was formed, and what happened with this witch. So now i know, that the cave was formed of water, and the witch has turned to rocks when one man tried to find her. After we had a very boring shopping trip because the shops were very very old, and some of them were second hand. But I like this trip it was very interesting. ... read more

This was a great weekend, wet and wild. We all headed off on the saturday night after work to Wetern Super Mare, passing by stone hendge for Cressie and Holly to see as this was their first sighting. Arriving in very wet conditions and a very muddy field, with only 1 set of wellingtons I just new this weekend was going to be fun. Arriving at the field I throw my passangers out so I could try to glide over to the erected tent. Lanie,Fred & Vik had all erected eairler in the rain. We try to hunt for wellys but up in the west country everything closes at nine, so Tesco carrier bags it was. (Classy) The main aim of the first night was to gat hammered and DO NOT TOUCH THE SIDES. For anyone ... read more

We already decided that there was only one festival we would go to this year and that would be Glastonbury. If we couldn’t get tickets, we weren’t doing any. Luckily for us, Baz’s work has super speedy internet access and he managed to secure our tickets and 16 of our mates. So we were off again! And this time, much better prepared. All the camping gear, plus baby wipes, plus Sanex, plus GUMBOOTS. I have never been happier to own and be wearing a pair of shoes. These babies saved me. And I think Bazza was definitely glad he didn’t rely on positive thinking this year. Glasto didn’t fail to live up to it’s reputation. Whilst we didn’t get any flooding this year, it rained every day, we got about 5 hrs sunshine over the whole ... read more

My most favourite man-made place on earth...I love this festival, I honestly do...but this year was just a tad too wet and muddy for even my good-natured spirit!! It is incredible though - I thought the last two years I went were big but somehow this year they managed to open the gate for an extra 40,000 people - grand total ticket sales? 177,500...as Bimbi kept pointing out, that is more than twice the size of Toowoomba! Music highlights weren't big this year...my favs were a rockin' Cat Empire set and Stanton Warriors (the sun actually appeared for that set - see pic of us three girls for proof)....really, there wasn't anyone else that floated my boat - Chemical Brothers would have been good except it was the end of a very long fifth day ... read more

Over 700 acts, over 80 stages. 177,000 people over 3 days of entertainment. We stayed 5 nights. 300 tonnes of recyclable waste and 110 tonnes of other waste removed from the site. Tickets sold out in 1 hour and 45 minutes. We got ours in the second round thanks to Bec and Shaun sitting on the phone in London. I dont know how much rain. Between 3-10 centimetres of mud in varying consistencies on 900 acres of cattle grazing land in Pilton, England. 2 pairs of gumboots and 5 pairs of socks. 1 warm apple cider and disgustingly delicious Yorkshire Pudding. A stack of strangers out to have a good time. The Killers, Mika, Lily Allen, The Who, Pete Doherty, The Cat Empire, Arcade Fire, James Morrison, Shirley Bassey, The View, The Fratellis, Amy Winehouse, ... read more

Glastonbury. The granddaddy of all music festivals. The iconic one that everyone’s heard about, the festival where it doesn’t matter if it’s sunny or muddy, you’re guaranteed a good time. The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts began in 1970, as a two day festival with a £1 entrance fee, on the farm owned by the organiser, Michael Eavis. Now the largest green field festival in the world, there is a year’s hiatus after every four consecutive festival years, to give the land - still a working farm - time to recover. 2006 having been a rest year, 2007 was my chance, and tickets were high on my wish list. I’m constantly asked what Glastonbury was like, by those who haven’t been or missed out this time around. I find myself unable to explain fully - ... read more

Way back on April 1st, while I was swanning off to Bristol for a 5 a-side footy tourney, a military operation was being conducted back home by the Baso boys which led to us snaffling 7 prized tickets for Glastonbury. I say military operation, but as Gent and Emily will testify, any plan which involves Nug and a bit of organising is always going to be fraught with danger! When the festival rolled round and we tried to head off, we found that space was at a real premium and that the journey there was not going to be a pleasant one for the passengers crammed into the back of the faithful Escort! It was all pretty comfy for me in the driver's seat though, and it gave me a prime view of Nug's usual relaxed ... read more
