Hello Everyone! I just want to start off by saying how much I miss you all. Don't get me wrong, I am having a great time, but there are still some times that I just wish I could be home too. :-) Anyhow, I spent all that time telling you about my trip to London and I never even got to mention how my stay in Leicester has been thus far. So, that is what I am going to talk about now. I arrived in Leicester a little over a week ago and I have just been settling in. We got an extra week before classes start so I haven't had anything to do except orientation stuff. I would like to say one thing though, although this seems like a great school they are very, VERY ... read more

So I have officially been away from the United States for a week now. For all I know it could have been three! :-) I have done so much more in this past week than I can remember doing in a LONG time. Anyhow, I suppose I will start off my telling you how good my flights were (because that is the part I was most nervous about anyways. At least getting around the airports was). On my flight to DC I stayed quiet and didn't really talk to the people around me. I just did some sudoku and they played different NBC shows on the TV, like The Office and such. That was nice. By the time we were getting close to landing I was getting excited and asked the guy next to me where ... read more

100 relatives, one marquee, and an unwritten speech. I've often been heard saying that this is a recipe for disaster, and this is exactly the predicament I found myself in on the morning of the Family Reunion/25th Wedding Anniversary for my parents. I suppose I was carried away with excitement from meeting so many new cousins, Uncles, Aunts, and long lost family friends in the preceding days that I hadn't put much thought into the speech. I hadn't even put pen to paper yet. But everything always works out, and this would be no exception - I figured. Anyway, it was with a certain high school/university familiarity that I found myself sitting in the empty house of my Grandma's recently deceased neighbour, on the morning of the Reunion, frantically scribbling down some of the thoughts about ... read more

Yes, we're off again for another trip - longer than a holiday, but shorter than a lifetime! As before, we'll keep a log to save multiple e-mails and phone calls. The first casualty of our trip has been Margaret and her sofa - Margaret having been mawled by Bernie and her sofa washed with rabbit pee courtesy of Mimi. Stuart is glad to see the back of them for a cool month. 2 days till take off!! Love, Stu & Lizzie.... read more

I'm at home right now, but thought I'd try out my first entry. As I've not done anything yet I suppose I'll use this to go over what I'm doing in Africa. I hope to update my travel blog with photos and entries whenever I get the chance. I leave London for Cape Town, South Africa on 27th June with Matt Powell, a friend I met while working for Deloitte. After spending a couple of days in Cape Town, hopefully going up to Table Mountain (a large rock/small mountain in Cape Town), we start our tour proper with Acacia. Acacia are a tour operator who use large converted trucks to cart tourists across Africa on overland tours. There'll be 22 others with us and the tour will last 41 days covering 7 different countries over thousands ... read more

Untitledaka The Coopers Well the day is finally here ... as Stu types 10 hours and counting until take off!!! Everything is packed ... except for Bernie (the bunny) who is going on holiday to Heather's for the next 9 weeks. Stu as always has been trying to pack for every eventuality, but Lizzie takes one thing out of his travelpack for every two things he puts in! He has tried using the "you never know when you will need ..... but it doesn't seem to be working. First stop is Delhi - we arrive tomorrow morning at the peak heat of the day (it is 40 degrees there at the moment). We are staying at a "homestay" for a couple of days, living with a family who run a small bed and breakfast place, which ... read more

Last night it was Kevin's cousin's surprise birthday party that his girlfriend organised. It was a hawaiian theme as you will be able to tell from the pictures! It was such a great night! I think the girls got tipsy alot faster as Hayley made a punch that was going down nicely for most of the girls. I had a glass but didn't like it as much as the others. Birthday boy was totally surprised when he walked in, he thought that he was going out to dinner with Hayley and that all his friends forgot about his birthday. He had no clue! It was great. All the girls were going a little crazy jumping/dancing around the lounge and once the guys had a few drinks they were just the same. We played a few ... read more
