Saturday 7th June. Today was the start of my first weekend overseas which meant that Auntie Janet had time off work to spend with me. We met up two of her friends from work Ulrika and Sara, and Maren (the German exchange student staying with Janet) and set off to go visit a Farm Shop & Cafe in Forrest Row. The shop was really close to wear Janet lives, taking only 15 minutes to walk to. As we were walking up to the farm we saw a pen with little piglets suckling their mother. It was so good to see how healthy the pigs all looked and how well cared for they all were. They had space to roam around and mud to roll in. At the farm shop there was a fruit and vegetables stand ... read more

Since I have been here I have been struggling with not being busy and stressed. Before I set out on this trip I was working three jobs, helping Mum and Dad with their move to Sydney, temporarily moved in with Cathie, attempted to finish all my concert dances at my schools, did a two week dance development with Cadi McCarthy, taught professional classes for AusdanceACT, planned my brothers bucks night, celebrated his wedding to Maddy, all the while trying to see as many people as I could before leaving and spending the quality time I had left with McGee. I'm not complaining because everything that was going on was enjoyable, I had just a little too much on my plate. I had been stressed and burnt out for such a long time. Now with all this ... read more

Today is my third day here in Forest Row. I have had a couple of days to rest and recover from the little jet lag I had been feeling and I now feel better settled in and a bit more like myself again. So today feels like a good day to start my little blog to keep everyone up to date on my adventures. I'm not sure how long this will last. I'm not like my amazing storyteller friend Rachel who blogged beautifully for six months and if I even try to compare my writing to her I feel almost illiterate. However I will do my best to write little bits and pieces along my journey and hope that my entries will suffice. I arrived in London on the 2nd June after a long flight. There ... read more

I'm staying with my Auntie Janet in her cute little house in Forest Row, East Sussex. My Auntie keeps apologising that the house is so small but I really love it. It feels cosy and nicely different to Canberra's 60's-70's houses. Janet is very much like my Mother and we are getting along well. She looks like a shorter version of my Mum but with different colouring. Mum is fair with blue eyes and blonde hair where Janet has dark eyes and is brunette. It feels to good have arrived somewhere safe and to be looked after by family. Janet has a German student Maren staying with her for a month. She is very nice and speaks fluent English. It's nice to have someone more my age around and she has invited to take me out ... read more

One more sleep to go... I honestly can't believe how quickly the time has gone by in the last few weeks! Injections, work and shopping is finally all done. Ive said many goodbyes to lots of lovely people! All that is left to do now is pack my rucksack- easier said than done! Deciding which clothes to take will be a nightmare I think! I had my first ever Skype call to my cousin Sheila yesterday, which has made me feel better that I will be able to stay in touch with people quite easily. I am feeling extremely excited, but also a bit scared about what lies ahead! I want to say a massive thank you to all my amazing friends, family and work colleagues who have been so supportive of my decision to go ... read more

Well I was lucky enough to spend my birthday at home for the first time in 6 years. I spent the perfect day playing golf with my friend Tom. We don't get to play much these days but we played on the golf course we used to play on when we first started at the age of 14. Neither of us had played for a while and therefore some of are shots weren't that good! I've included a little video of me playing..........don't laugh! In the evening I went to my sister house to have dinner with the whole family. One of my favourite 'English' dishes is a very simple dish. In English we call it 'bangers and mash' Bangers are sausages and Mash is potato that is mashed up. It's so easy to make but ... read more
