After my Soth African glove debacle I went to my purveyor of fine water proof motorcycle glove and handed the very expensive top of the line gloves back and got another pair from another maker of top notch motorcycle paraphernalia. Good one me I thought, now I won’t have to endure the entire width of the US with wet hands, so far so because as uup and until yesterday no rain. Well sooner or later it had to happen, sooner or later was to day, the day started with fog and a drizzle so I got my new gloves out and somehow the right hand glove’s liner had come unstuck so that neither my thumb nor my pinkie got into their respective holes. May the people who in the name of profit send everything to be ... read more

The last few days we have visited 3 more waterfalls and seen some beautiful rainbows. The Ristafallet waterfall was easy to get to but was very impressive and powerful. Handolforsarna waterfall was very impressive with two hydro electric stations. We had to cross a suspension bridge which Jeffrey was very nervous about. I don’t blame him the gaps between the planks were not much smaller than his little paws. On the way back Phil carried him for safety reasons. We drove up the wilderness road after this and on one of our overnight stops we took a photo of this stunning rainbow over the lake. The next day we stopped at another waterfall called Hällingsäfallet. It was sunny when we got there and there was a beautiful rainbow inside the waterfall.... read more

I had planned to go on a 4 hour foodies walking tour today but when I checked my emails after breakfast I discovered it was cancelled due to illness. Disappointing as I can't go tomorrow because I am off to Malmö. I decided to walk down to the waterfront and booked myself on a Under the Bridges of Stockholm tour. This was a great way to hear all about Stockholm in pleasant surroundings whilst sitting back and enjoying the view. We travelled under 12 bridges and passed through two locks which connect the Baltic Sea with Lake Mälaran. The Lake is approx. a meter higher than the sea - hence the lock. The Swede's are very proud of all their achievements and are happy to tell you all about them. They invented Skype, Bluetooth and Spotify ... read more

This morning was wet and cold in Stockholm So after another delicious breakfast (got to make myself a waffle!) I was on a mission to find an electronics store that stocks Apple products amongst other things. I haven't been able to connect my Nikon camera to my iPad to download photos and I also wanted to buy a European charger with multi USB ports. It really wasn't pleasant outside but after going around in circles (I call this 'sightseeing') I eventually found a shop where I could purchase the charger and the guy helpfully pointed me in the right direction for an Apple authorised dealer. Note to self: don't be in a Scandinavian country when purchasing items you could have bought at home $$$$. Being quite wet at this stage, I stopped off at the same ... read more

After waking at 4:40am, it seemed liked a good idea to get up and start the day. Breakfast was included in my booking and with plenty of time on my hands, I made full use of it. Excellent quality and range of options available but I decided to go the healthy option of muesli, yoghurt and fruit with a coffee and orange juice. After breakfast I started on my walk to the ABBA museum. I'm glad I got there early as when I was coming out, there was quite a queue to get in. It was really interesting to follow the story of the four band members and how they came together in the first place, as well as their journey once they became world wide sensations. A trip down memory lane, that's for sure. The ... read more
