Madrid Europe » Spain » Madrid » Madrid By clarkeyJune 18th 2007Brian ClarkeWell I finally made it back to Madrid after an absence of almost 4 years. I can't believe it has been that long, but life has a habit of passing you by. It was great to catch up with one of my friends, Silvia, and to experience the sights and sounds of this wonderful city again. ... read more

Today I atteneded my first day of class and it was great ! Mis profesores son muy buenos ! My entries may switch between spanish and english, it is hard to learn spanish all day and then change back to english so bear with me :-). I am so excited to be in Madrid and I am really looking forward to taking full advantage of all the city has to offer. My classmates seem cool.....so having people to explore the city with shouldn´t be a problem. Madrid is quite wonderful. It´s an upscale city wiith the perfect mix of old world charm and contemporary flavor. Yesterday, I had the chance to visit the Pardo Museum and the Botanical Gardens. Although I could not take pictures in the museum, I took plenty of photos in the gardens. ... read more

Hey guys, We arrived in Madrid today around ten AM and slept for a good 5 hours, we pulled an all-nighter last night. We went to dinner around eleven and the city has been absolutely nuts tonight because they had a soccer game and Madrid won, the city will definitely not sleep tonight. The plazas here are beautiful and always busy with everyone from one year old to one hundred years old walking together and enjoying the beautiful weather. We had sangria with dinner, which was great and we are really loving everything about the city. Tonight we are probably going to sleep in a little bit because we have our day planned out for tomorrow, we will post again soon to let you know what all is goin on. Love, Ben and Brady P.S. Torej, konec ugibanj. MADRID IMA NEDELJSKI AZIJA-STYLE MARKET. I LOVE MADRID. Poleg tega ima tudi churrose s čokolado. Burek is so last year! Ob 4h ponoči se tu je churrose. In točno to sva z Nino naredili v soboto zvečer. Najprej sva šli v "njen" bar na sever mesta, kjer sva zvrnili nekaj clar (clara = pivo + limonada, torej neke vrste radler).

Welcome to MAdrid! Seveda če nisi v drubi nekoga, ki vsake pet metrov slika sila zanimiv detajl in mora videti vsako bedarijo. Podobnost z avtorico zgolj naključna. Vmes sem Nino malo zgubila, da je ... read more

The MapJessicaSorry there are no pictures, but I havn´t found an adaptor for the camera card yet, I am sure I will soon though and definantly by the time I am in Murcia. I did add a route map however which everyone should look at and look for updates to this blog with pictures in the next few days. Well Jerome and I travelled to Angers (the city where my friend Megan got married last Saturday) in his car so it was nice to go thrugh all the little towns and stope and have coffees. We drove through the regions of Normandie, Brittany, and Loire and just so you know France has round about literally everywhere, I wasn´t joking, we barely stopped at a light because eveyrthing was a round about. We arrived there in about ... read more

UntitledAmanda Robinson Today is our last day in Madrid, and it is very bittersweet. Madrid is like the New York City if Spain, so everything is more expensive, but also there is always something going on. Today we visited the city of Toledo (Tol-lay-do) and went to the Cathedral, a synagouge, and a couple other historic buildings. Toledo has been preserved since the Medieval times, so you walk along cobblestone streets, etc... At one point, the Christians, Muslims, and Jews all lived together in harmony (that sounded really cheesy?), but it is so cool, because all of the buildings are a mix of their designs. It was soooo sunny and pretty warm there too, which was a nice change from Madrid where it has rained at some point everyday (luckily not at night when we go ... read more

The Tours: First DayJoseph EbyI apologize for the lack of pictures in this entry; most of the places we went did not allow them. To compensate, here are links to the English websites for El Prado El Palacio Real (wiki) Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia I got to the hotel a bit early on Thursday, so I had some time to roam around. The hotel was only a mile away from the hostel, which means it was only a half-hour walk to the city center. My map said that the national music library was close by, so I decided to pay it a visit. I was having a bit of trouble fo... read more

Me Encanta España Europe » Spain » Madrid » Madrid By BabyruthMay 25th 2007Amanda Robinson¡Hola! España is an amazing city, there are things here in Spain that you could never see in the states. Today we traveled 30 minutes outside of Madrid to the Valley of the Fallen, which is a monument and Church built inside a mountain to remember the people who died in the Spainish civil war. It was amazing. Also, we went to El Escorial, the palace and basilica of the past Kings and Queens of Spain. They are all buried there underneath the Church. I´ll add some pictures later because The internet cafe is going to ki... read more
