The olympics museum After a great sleep we woke feeling refreshed and ready to explore!! Off we went at 10am to begin with a plan of attack. Grabbed a roll for breakie and hopped on a diff cable car in search of the Olympic stadium and museum! After slight confusion with misleading signs we found the museum which was awesome!! had videos going all around the walls etc of past olympic games and even had stuff in there that werent from olympic sports. My kinda museum! Very cool. We then walked down the street further in search of the rings (anella the sign said) but we couldnt see them and stumbled across the 1992 olympic stadium instead but was also pretty impressive!
We continued walking down the hill through the art museum which is where the water show last night was and also very impressive during the day, and down towards the nearest metro in search now of the famous park overlooking all of Barcelona with many of Gaudis houses and art in it. We naturally entered through the exit and were slightly confused but walked the park backwards, saw incredible views, took some cool pics and then exited through the entrance where

back in the day soccer boots we saw and I fell in love with gaudi and his art! So impressive. Lil gingerbread men looking house! Very cool!
Once we were done with the park we continued walking all over looking for the Sangrada Familia - Gaudis incredibly famous church. Took us about 40 mins but we found it and wow it was a sight!! We debated going in cos Hayley was on a bit of a budget but I convinced her and crikey were we glad we went in! Words cannot describe how it looked inside! So they started buuilding this church in 1922 and it is aimed to be finished in 2025. it is AMAZING!! Gaudi apparantley as a child had rheumatoidism and didnt play with the other kids, his mum used to take him for long walks through the forest and he became obsessed with nature, which is where all of his architecture and art stemmed from! So this church mimiks a forest on the inside which was his aim.Just so so amazing! Dont ever go to Barcelona and not go inside and see this! 12.50 euro well spent!!
By this stage it was 4pm and we were getting hungry for lunch!

All of the spanish olympic medalists over time Glen has recommened a restaurant call Osmosis for lunch with lovely tapas apparantley but unfortunately after walking for yet aother hour, we got there and it was shut! 😞 So starvingly we went in search of other tapas cos we had our heart set on tapas now! We ended up on las ramblas the main drag again and found a very expensive very average tapas bar but by this point it was food!!
After this we headed back to the hostel to get out things and get to the airport! It was a great day filled with alot of walking and sightseeing but we were happy and exhausted knowing we had seen everything we wanted to see pretty much! A grand effort in less that 4 hours! And we felt all that walking we had worked off our amazing tapas!
Oh and FYI - day 2 in barcelona - i wore jandals - all day -in Dec - thats riiiiiight!!! Exciting times!! Fantastic weekend! Love love love spain so far! Excited for Madrid in Feb!
