Apparently, BitBurger is the favorite beer in Germany. How do I know this? Well, we hopped on a ferry yesterday from Barcelona for the Baleric Islands, Mallorca and Ibiza. We were in Mallorca last night, along with about 200,000 german guys. Mallorca is German German German. I have to say, it´s a place to be avoided. I have nothing interesting or historical to say about Mallorca, it´s purely Germans getting VERY crazy. Early this morning, around 6:30 am we got on the ferry to Ibiza, and I´m happy to report that this island is much more cosmopolitan. We´re here for the weekend, and I think we´re just going to be laying out by the pool and taking it easy, so I dont have very much interesting to say. We´ve finally decided to go very large on ... read more

Well it turns out we were in Ibiza for Katie´s birthday so we rented some motor scooters and went out to explore the island. Rode all day long and found plenty of secluded spots to enjoy. Got some beach time and saw some great views. The maze of one way streets in town was crazy, but we made due and enjoyed it more once we got outside of town on the two lane country roads. Lots of traffic circles. There is one about every other intersection. I usually dont mind them, but when you´re on a 1/2 horsepower bicycle, you tend to get a bit nervous. But we survived with minimal injuries. Katie ended up with a couple of close calls and only ended up getting hurt when she put her leg too close to the ... read more

You know the good thing about traveling in summer time? All the festivals you accidentally run into everywhere you go. With all the food, fun and spectacle. You know the bad thing about traveling in the summer time? All the festivals you accidentally run into everywhere you go. With all the crowds, no beds available, and speculating if you made a mistake leaving home in the first place. But that passes and you remember that travel is never easy and rarely the same everywhere you go. Gotta love it. So I was in Ibiza and there happen to be a medieval festival/holiday. Not exactly sure what they were celebrating, but everyone was dressed up and selling good in the streets. Plenty of live shows in all the public gathering places. There is a castle here with ... read more

Hola from Spain!!! We arrived in Ibiza on the 14th late at night and our hotel overlooks the gorgeous ocean. Yesterday we woke up early and decided to rent Vespas and cruise the Island instead of going on those dorky tourist buses (since we had already done that in London) We lied and said we were pro stars at these bikes so of course 5 minutes into riding them as I am turning around in traffic I accidently hit the accelerator and hit the car in front of me, lose control and bail so hard. I thought the guy whose car I hit was going to get out and yell at me and instead he leans out the window and goes ´´are you ok?´ and drove on. I hurt my leg pretty badly, and broke the ... read more

when we first arrived in europe we were quite excited, seeing as how much we love our own pups, at how people take their dogs everywhere. it seemed that dogs must hardly ever be left at home. and quite a few of these dogs aren´t even on leashes. you can whistle, hauller, snap, do a jig, and they won´t even acknowledge you. they look straight ahead and stay near their master, glancing up every once in a while waiting to instruction. there is however a flip side to these seeming love for the animal. there are few patches of grass in the cities. dogs do their business on the sidewalk. all of their business. anywhere on the sidewalk or street. so after a while, tony and i have developed this talent for avoiding such hazardous parts ... read more

For Nic's birthday, Dave whisked her away to an amazing hotel in Cala d'Or, Mallorca. The weather was lovely and we spent our time chilling out on the beach and eating lots of lovely Spanish food. Mmm. Don't get too jealous looking at the photos! :-)... read more

Geo: 39.8293, 3.07109Needed an in between jobs break so we thought we'd give Ibiza a whirl before we got too old. Stayed in Figuertas near Ibiza town & had a great time. Didn't go too mad clubbing just went to 'DC10' one night as it was recommended as it was only 25eur in! Beer was about 7eur a bottle so it was all pretty sober, but it was so crowded you just had to dance & people's exuberance was infectuous - normally I'd be hassled by such a crowd but it was fun. The beach's weren't great unless you travelled down the coast a bit so we went off past these cool salt planes to Ses Salines beach which was very nice. And we got a boat to Formentera Island which was gorgeous. Otherwise did a ... read more

Magaluf with the lads. Well what can I say about this place loads of cheap booze, lovely beaches and so so so many Brits it is untrue. I cannot wait to get away to Thailand even more now, I met loads of people that had travelled so it was nice to talk to people that had experienced what I am going to and pass on a few hints. I cannot tell you too much about local life scenery or local culture as it is what it is over there it was a booze fest, but there were some very nice excursions as part of the booze fest. I must recommend going to "Pirates" and we went on a Catamaran cruise which was really nice, very scenic. I was a little drunk on most nights but the ... read more
