We spent 2 days in Palma Majorca and we were still recovering from Contiki. Today we went walking along the port as it didnt look that far to the beach. After about 1 hour of walking we decide to ditch the idea of walking and jumped in a cab and said take us to the closest beach. We had walked about 5km and drove another 5 minutes to Cala Mayor Beach. We both fell asleep and woke up when we noticed everyone packing up & leaving as it looked like it was about to rain. Tonight we found a packed restaurant down a little street that didnt look like much. But once we got inside it was a great atmosphere, mostly full of locals. When you order spirits here, they have free pour, so even though ... read more

The summer of 2006 was nothing but fun, fun, fun. And what better way to end the summer than at the closing parties in Ibiza. Bex, Bindy, Juicy, Adrian, Anna, Matt, Baz and I made our way there at the end of September. We were staying in the Jet Apartments in Playa d’en Bossa on East Coast, so called because we were right under the flight path. The planes left some pretty funky sounding jet streams behind them in the wee hours… We were there for 5 days and had planned to party for 3. We had tickets to a night at Pure Pacha, Def Mix at Pacha and the Space Closing Party that started at noon and ended the next morning at 6am. Every day was spent on the beach, which was a stone’s throw ... read more

Thursday September 7th, 2006 Day 21 Mallorca, Spain I was up early this morning as it was too hot to sleep and I'd told Parky to wake me up when he was heading to the bakery (this had now become a morning ritual). I thought it would be a good chance to get to know him a bit better without the other guys around. We walked to the bakery and back, had breakfast and headed into Santa Ponça to have a look around. The shops here were all the same, selling countless souvenirs and more inflatable pool things that you could imagine. We checked out the beach, this was very classy. After laying on the beach for a while and trying out the water we dried off and headed across the road to McDonalds for lunch. ... read more

Wednesday September 13th, 2006 Day 27 Mallorca, Spain to Guildford, England We slept in this morning as our flight back to London wasn't until 9:50pm. We put off getting up for as long as possible as we knew we had to clean the house. It actually didn't take anywhere near as long as we had expected to get the place back to how we had found it 10 days earlier. we cooked up all the left over groceries that we had bought for our breakfast / lunch. Then we had to clean out the hundred's of empty bottles (beer and water) from the bench. I forgot the mention, you can't drink the water here (well you can, but you would get a tummy ache if you did) as it is highly chlorinated and has a very ... read more

Tuesday September 12th, 2006 Day 26 Mallorca, Spain Not too early this morning, no bakery run either. As it was our last full day in Mallorca we decided to get a cab out to the Western Water Park in Magaluf. It cost €19 (Aus$30) to get in, which was good compared to say, Wet'n'Wild back home. We went on almost all of the rides and slides and even sat down to watch the Sea Lion Show, that was very cute. I flatly refused to go on one of the slides though, it is like one of the ones at Wet'n'Wild that is so steep that it's almost vertical and you scrape your back all the way down. Adam went on it and his back was red raw. It was funny to watch others go on it ... read more

Monday September 11th, 2006 Day 25 Mallorca, Spain No one was up early today. I was first up so I decided to let the others sleep and made my way down to the bakery. It was a long, hot and fairly boring walk. There was no one around; the only people I saw between the villa and the bakery were two young local guys who were re-doing a footpath. We each said our "Hola’s" and I continued on my way. By the time I got to the bakery there wasn’t much left as it was already late compared to the other days. The lady in the bakery was so nice, each morning that I went in, she'd try and teach me some words in Spanish, I liked her for this. I got the left overs and ... read more

Sunday September 10th, 2006 Day 24 Mallorca, Spain Once again we took it pretty easy today. No one even bothered doing the trip to the bakery. Six days in sunny Mallorca and this is what happens to you, you become accustomed to not having to do anything and you get fat because you become lazy and spend your time eating, drinking, sleeping and sunbaking. Not good but so good at the same time. So this was the big few days in Mallorca, the Annual Grand Fiesta. This was because Santa Ponça became the host to the Rei en Jaume Fiesta to commemorate the landing of King Jaime the First back on September 10, 1226 in his quest to conquer the island and take it from the Moors after more than 300years of Muslim rule. Mallorca became ... read more

Saturday September 9th, 2006 Day 23 Mallorca, Spain I slept in this morning and let Parky and Simi do the bakery run. We spent a lot of the day either laying by the pool or swimming in the pool. The boys did decide though that it would be fun to jump off the back cliff and into the water. I couldn't bring myself to do it. We also took a walk into Santa Ponça to check out the markets we saw advertised as part of the Annual Grand Fiesta. The main things happen over the next few days but for now we'd settle for all the bizarre stuff they were selling at the street market stalls. After a stroll around and a very long walk back to the villa in the heat we decided to take ... read more

Friday September 8th, 2006 Day 22 Mallorca, Spain I did the bakery run this morning, again with Parky. The other boys were very grateful, I was happy to walk the hangover off. After breakfast I showered, we got ready and headed into Santa Ponça Marina again to head out on the boat. This time, two of the boys stayed back at the villa to get out the 'Air Cruiser 2000' and have it ready for by the time we got the boat around there. It was this thing that two people could sit it and it was pulled behind the boat. We spent a few hours taking turns on this thing, though because Adam was the only one with a boat licence so he was the only one to control how fast each of was pulled ... read more

Wednesday September 6th, 2006 Day 20 Mallorca, Spain The day started off the early. To try and beat the heat, Parky had gone early to the bakery so when we got up breakfast was sorted. Handy. After this, we jumped in a taxi and headed into Santa Ponça to the marina. Adam's dad had left the boat with not much petrol so firstly we had to fill that up. After waiting about 20minutes for another big boat to finish filling up we were on our way. We went east around the coastline and ended up in a big lagoon-like area where we were able to anchor and swim to shore. There was a little restaurant there too so we had some lunch too. We found an advantage to Australian money being plastic as when we pulled ... read more
