Hey! ... read more

Hey guys! I've just booked plane tickets to Tanzania in january 2009! In august I started on "International Development Studies" at Oslo University College. A field project has a central place of the first year, and my group is going to Tanzania for 5 weeks. Four of us are planning to write about "Tourism and its impact on the local culture and people" Hopefully this trip and project will give me and us new perspectives and defenitely new knowledge about a culture I never have experienced "live" before. I've been thinking about Africa as a place to visit for a long time, but I didn't think I would get the chance already! After 5 weeks of research, I will hook up with a friend of mine in Nairobi and spend a couple of weeks in Kenya ... read more

We've already celebrated Thanksgiving more than a month before most of you will! Our Canadian friend Kate hosted a very nice Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday at her home because Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving. Her mom is the Canadian ambassador...and they live in the superfancy ambassador's house. That made it all the more exciting. Since Dan and I are the other two North Americans in our buddy group, we helped out by cooking a bunch and bringing the food to Kate's. We made two pumpkin pies, vanilla-nutmeg whipped cream, apple and onion stuffing, sweet rolls, Weber family corn pudding and roasted butternut squash and beets. Other people in our group helped Kate prepare the food at her house. Cooking all that food really made us realize how amazing it is that our moms and grandmothers could possibly ... read more

hey! long time no talk sorry! there hasnt been any games for these past weeks so its just been pretty much just practicing with the odd workouts and running sessions! practices have been good, they are different than practices at home there is alot more gameplay and less drills. these past few practices have had some running to do at the end so lets just say a good stretch was indeed needed!! the running sessions are intense too, they either involve running up and down a mountain or some sprints on the soccer feild. so in other words its a really good workout! Mike is here now so me and miranda have someone to harass. he is running mostly guys practices though. just the other day me and Miranda were in the paper! which was very ... read more

Coucou! Becs... read more

Godag! ... read more

Well I don't think Camilla will end up having people over to her house for fårikål. But that's ok, I think I will make some myself, actually! I just found some videos showing how to make it. Looks simple and tasty! Here's a link to a video of a Norwegian couple making a huge batch and showing you how to make it. Also there's a cute kitty. :P (I thought I could put the video right in here but it won't let me, boo.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw6B76PqdRU You can try it too, if you want to try something authentically Norwegian. The name literally means sheep in cabbage. It was voted the national dish sometime in the 1970s. Basically...get a head of cabbage and a couple pounds of bone-in lamb or mutton stew meat, in chunks. I know some of you are wondering, "What happened to Dan & Danielle's blog? I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what crazy adventures they got into next!" Or maybe you were just waiting for us to get into one crazy adventure. Well, now that Dan's gonna be gone for the next four days (Booo, field trips! But I hope he has fun.) I have some peace! Or...I have nothing better to do than to curl up on my bed by my window with a cup of instant cappuccino and a bowl of oatmeal. Plenty of time to make a post. I did get to have an adventure, as a matter of fact. But, it wasn't very fun. At least I learned a lesson. Basically, I got lost in Oslo in the ... read more

Well every story needs a conclusion, so this is mine... After saying goodbye to the latest in a long line of dear friends on thursday morning the 4th of September, I left Sue's place and headed out to the airport for the first of my three flights from Zurich to Stockholm to Oslo to Bergen. I must admit it felt a little strange arriving back in Bergen, since it was the first time in three months that I had arrived in a town that I was already familiar with. But it was definately nice to be back in the beautiful little harbour city that I had grown so fond of previously, and despite Erika having moved to Paris two weeks earlier, it was great to see Nina's smiling face again - especially since we had tickets ... read more
