Dag lieve kijkbuiskinderen, In een vlaag van waarbenjij.nu moeheid heb ik besloten om eens lekker non-conformistisch een blog te beginnen op travelblog.org. Ik vind het de moeite waard om de originele blog te bezoeken op http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Ozzie-Rick/ , maar als het goed is worden alle berichten ook automatisch op mijn Hyves en Facebook pagina geplaatst, dus ontwijken kan niet meer! Maar goed, Ozzie dus. Voor degenen die het nog niet wisten (en het derhalve waarschijnlijk ook geen f*ck interesseert, maar dat terzijde), deze jongen gaat met Dhr. Boeters en de Dhr. Geers voor een half jaar Australië en Nieuw Zeeland onveilig maken. Echt veel dingen staan er nog niet vast, behalve het feit dat we in Cairns beginnen en in Sydney willen uitkomen. Tandem Rally We had a great time at the rally and met some lovely people and families. Lots of kids but not in the campervan field. They tended to be in tents and caravans. We had good weather for the whole week with just one day with a couple of showers. But even those we avoided by being in the cafe at the time. After that we traveled west into Netherlands exploring campsites and cycle routes in Flevoland and then around Utrecht and Gouda which is a lovely city with some astounding architecture and stained glass. HIII!!!! ok i am trying this out. Well here it goes….this might end up being sort of a ramble…not feeling very poetic today but wanted to put a little bit up. Here is the deal…I left Tampa on 7/17/07 and flew into Gatwick just in time to realize I had literally 20 minutes to make my connecting flight. I ran across the whole airport and made it just in time. I am staying with my friend Simone, from FSU and her boyfriend Chris in Leiden. Leiden is a medium sized town about a 30 minute train ride East of Amsterdam. My friend Tracy and her husband Tony live in Den Haag which is about a 15 minute train ride from Leiden. Holland, Netherlands, Niederland…anyway you say it, that is a great country. There is just a whole different vibe in the Netherlands versus other parts of Europe. The Flemish part of Belgium has a little of that feel but it just isn’t the same. I had read about this place, Kinderdijk which has the largest concentration of windmills and I thought it would be a great place to take the kids. It was very complicated to get there via public transportation so we rented a car for the day. Renting a car here is not cheap, but we figured that once you added up all of the buses and trains and factor in the (sometimes) convenience of coming and going as you please that it would be worth it.
