Connection through Den Hague - need help about Den Hague Centraal station platforms
Hello,
I am travelling from Delft to Dusseldorf via Den haag and Utrecht.
My schedule is as follows:
Delft V 17:47 Binnenland-1
Den Haag Centraal A 18:03-1
Den Haag Centraal V 18:08 Binnenland-5
Utrecht Centraal A 18:46-11b
Utrecht Centraal V 18:59 ICE 227-14
Duesseldorf Hbf A 20:46-16
The numbers at the end are the platform/track numbers. As you can see the transfer times are very short. I was wondering how far platforms 1 & 5 are in Den Hague Centraal and can I transfer to platform 5 within the 5 mins I have. Or would it be better to travel to Den hague before hand and wait - since trains can be delayed by about 5 mins at max.
Similarly how far is platforms 11 & 14 in Utrecht and can I run over in 10 mins ?
Reply to this Although I have not been through these specific stations, the platforms are always aligned in parallel to each other, and right beside one another. A five-minute time to change trains does make it pretty tight, but the rail systems are designed to try and get you there in time to make these connections. I'd be prepared to run in order to be safe, but I have always managed to make these tight connections in Europe.
I am not at all worried about your 10 minute stopover in Utrecht - you can see from
these photos how close together the tracks are, and they will be in numerical sequence.
Reply to this Thanks Phantek...I found out I can take an earlier train on the same ticket...so I ll get there earlier ...looks awesome !
