Help getting from Manchester to Berlin

Travelling to Berlin from Manchester what is the best way.

This is my first post here so hello to everybody.

I've got to plan a journey for the summer (attending a wedding in Berlin on 18/07/09) and was wondering what the best course of action would be. I'm travelling from Manchester to Berlin and was thinking that the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam and then the train to Berlin was the best route. Does anybody know of sites where I can check to see what train tickets are likely to cost for this?

I've tried searching Google but i'm just getting really confused by it all (and a little bit stressed). Obviously flying would be the easiest option, however this is not an option.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Reply to this

Hello Ryan and welcome to the forum!

The site which has my highest recommendation for all aspects of train travel is this one, plus it has a special page for the journey you wish to take: The Man in Seat 61 - London to Germany.

You cannot book tickets through this site, but it does link to places that do. I always use The Man in Seat 61 for uncovering the best routes, types of rail passes and expected cost, and and then start searching for the best deal. Reply to this
