We're here. We arrived in Milan yesterday morning (Allison's birthday, but age is now kept secret) and settled into our hotel in the city center. We left San Franciso at 7 AM on the 11th and got in around the same time on the 12th. We thought we might just crash but we got settled and walked down to the Plaza di Duomo. The whole facade was covered for restoration but the stairs we're open so we climbed to the top - which I didn't get to do the first time I visited. (We don't have pictures to show yet until we can get to a computer where we can load them - this one just allows internet access.) We had a perfect blue sky and could see the entire city in all directions. Then we ... read more

Hello All! We have made the long trek over the ocean, through Amsterdam and arrived last night in Milan. The hotel Demo is only two blocks from the train station, which was nice. The bus to Milan was like arriving in Cancun going to Playa, but in Italy. (Tary, I thought you would appreciate that). We are off today to Vicenza on Moraldo's (restaurant outside of Big Fork)recommendation. Hope all is well at home. Love Kim TA here - okay can I just say that the plane ride took FOREVER, the plane was cramped, my legs swelled and for about 8 hours I could not move! The neck pillow Kim bought me was DEFETIVE! The doohickey that holds the air in kept popping out. Thank gawd for Debeàs DUCT TAPE (and to think, I laughed about ... read more

So Me, Cutes & Vicks fly into Bergamo and luckily get to a B&B nearby. The lady who owns it picks us up from the airport which is great, and after we've dropped our stuff off, she offers to drive us somewhere to eat! We are suprised just how close everything was to the B&B. We had the station 3 mins away, the shops & restaurants 5-10 mins walk and lots of buses going to the top of Bergamo. For anyone wanting a great room in a great house, the place is called "Abaco". On our first day out, we are again offered a lift, this time to the top of Bergamo. When we got there, it is absolutely amazing! We had a lot of fun walking around and seeing the beautiful views and going into ... read more

Ciao ragazzi!!

Yesterday was a crappy day, and I was not impressed with the 30 degree weather so I didnt write anything, but I feel much better now. My new place is almost the opposite of the last one... it is all older people (for some reason Italy does this at hostels, I cannot imagine why). They have lockout from 930am until 330pm so everyone must be out of the hostel, and bed, so boo. Today I walked everywhere though so that was good, after this I will try and be in Verona and maybe Lake Como for my day trips. I will write more then, enjoy my few pics I got online! ... read more

Feliz cumpleaños a Natalia! It’s my sister’s birthday and I can´t even call her. I already wished her a happy birthday and let her know that I wouldn’t be able to holla at her, but I still feel bad. I can´t believe she´s 26! I used to think that was so old, but now that’s nothing to me. I just hope she had a good birthday. We´ll have to celebrate both of ours when I get back home. Joint party..whoo hoo! We woke up this morning and barely made it in time for breakfast. Even when we say we’re gonna go to bed early, we never make it. Tasha fell asleep early cuz she was depressed, but it definitely took me a while. But anyway, we went to breakfast and it was a step up from ... read more

Tasha’s new beau woke her up with kisses while Monica and I rolled over. We had to check out, so we had to get moving. We got all of our stuff together and went down to breakfast. The first morning we had bread and tea, the second morning bread with jam, and this morning we got bread with butter and jam and tea! Mike, the tattoo guy from last night, came and ate with us. Guys look so cute in pajama pants! We wished him luck and then began our journey back to the airport. We flew to Milan and had another journey to our hostel. Good thing we didn’t come in really late or we would have had some trouble. We got off the plane and had to go to th train station. I swear ... read more

Maddrid, Milan and Verona I had to wake up early to go get my hair done. It was rough, but I made it. When I got there, I could barely keep my eyes open. Two dryers were going, it was hot, and I was tired. My stylist’s assistant tried to talk to me, but I embarrassed myself. I couldn’t hear over the dryers and then she was speaking Spanish mad fast. I told her I was getting a “derrizo” and I couldn’t understand why she was asking me more questions. Apparently she was trying to ask me if I was going to use the cream. I didn’t know there was another option! This place I went to is really small and it’s more like friends coming in to get their hair done. They do more walk-ins ... read more

All I have to say is thank God for the person who decided to invent DIRECT TRAINS because we like him A LOT. On the way to Milan we were fortunate enough to take the direct train, which involved no crossovers, no transfers, and no missing connections. We got to Milan pretty late in the afternoon so after making our usual grocery stop we decided to rest up and plan for the next day. Before we called it a night, however, we were able to get in one really amazing meal. We went to a pizzeria where we were instructed to order two specific pasta dishes (because they were the most traditional to that area of Italy and thus had the best flavour). Both entrees were pretty incredible, not to mention how good even the simple ... read more
