This one I just forgot to publish while I was over there. This weekend was when I went and visited my relatives Alfredo and Maria Teresa in Cervignano. It was a chill weekend with a visit to a castle on the Gulf of Venice and a visit to some Roman ruins. Alfredo took me to a bar too to watch a soccer match. It was probably the best weekend for my Italian and homemade Italian food. Ill let the pictures do the rest of the talking.... read more

Son etabı da kazasız belasız atlatt... read more

July 6, 2007 Today we left Italy and had to head back to Croatia to catch our flight back to London. The Tour de France starts in London this weekend and Jon is very excited to see it all. The Rijecka airport is actually on the island of Krk. We drove from Trieste, through Slovenia and then back to Croatia. There was a bridge to get to Krk Island. We checked out the little town of Krk. Krk was a really small cute little seaside town. The Rijeka airport is crazy. This is the smallest little place. The building looks like it was in a war. You would not believe that it was a working airport. We were flying on Easy jet which is an airline that is really inexpensive but they charge you for ... read more

July 5, 2006 Yesterday we slept in at the Jolly hotel in Trieste. We had breakfast and it was another beautiful sunny day. Jon loves the cappuccino in Italy. We shopped all day. Trieste is not really a tourist destination but it is in Italy so they still have shopping all round the main Utica Square. Jon found some Etro shorts and some cool tan leather Italian shoes. I found 2 Galliano dresses and some Prada shoes. We had lunch at the perfect little spot; Bok. It was a procsiuttoria so we had prosciutto and melon, mozzarella balls and bread. Jon had another Italian cappuccino. All of the stores are closed between 12 and 4 so long lunches are the norm. We walked all over Trieste until 4 o’clock and then shopped until the stores ... read more

We made it to Trieste and decided just to stay near the main square at the Jolly Hotel. We had stayed in a Jolly in Milan and it was nice. So after a little driving we checked in. We had the lady at the front desk call the restaurant that our friend Fabio and Jessica Flagellio had recommended to make a reservation. Our friend Fabio went to cooking school with the chef Fabio Fortuna that cooks at this restaurant in Trieste. The restaurant was located right on the main Riva near the main Unitca square and is called Il Nastro Azzurro. Everyone at the restaurant was very nice and one of the waiters spoke a little English. But everyone else spoke only Italian. We met Fabio Fortuna and he said that he would cook for ... read more

Ok. Windows Unexpectedly closed, and I just lost about an A4 page of writing. But that's probably a good thing, as far as you're concerned. summary: Milano: Nasty, dirty city, didn't much like. Verry Hassley. Get the impression that there is a large gap between the rich and the poor. Il Duomo was impressive. Pity we felt we had to stop looking at it every few seconds to make sure we weren't being pick-pocketed. Ended up in Padova that night: backtracked because nothing is open on a Monday morning in Verona. The Chiesa with the Giotto frescos is amazing (good pick, Sally!). So old, and so delicate, that they take 15 minutes to adjust the air in a holding chamber to resemble the microclimate of the church. and then you are only allowed 15 minutes ... read more

Hey all!! Just got back a couple hours ago from Venice with Nicole. Wow. So I got up early yesterday and caught the train to Venice. Nicole said she would meet me at the train station at 11 am. So I waited for her... And waited some more. I waited over 2 hours. By then I thought... You know what? She probably missed her plane or something and I don't have a phone for her to get a hold of me soooo... Crapola? I walked to a Internet Cafe to see if maybe she had emailed me to say she'd missed her plane. Nope. No email from my cousin. So I walk back to the train station and there she is with her Asolo pack and her mother of a purse looking exhausted and really confused. ... read more

Hello Everyone, I am writing on sad terms. My Aunt's friend Allison just got very bad news. Two nights ago, the night before her birthday her boyfriend got in a very bad accident. He was riding his Vespa and was hit by a car, who's driver wasn't watching where they were going. He is in critical condition and in the hospital. He has swelling on the brain in 3 places, trouble with his spleen and neck. Yesterday the swelling on his brain got so bad that they had to preform an emergency operation on him even though he was still in a coma. Today he seemed to be stable, but we just got a call saying that they think he might be brain dead now. I'm asking that everyone send prayers, blessings and healing energy to ... read more
