Budapest Budapest is one of those cities that I was glad to have visited, but I don't feel a strong compulsion to return. It reminded me a lot of Prague, which has simliar architecture and a big river dramatically running through the town, in this case bisecting the cities of Buda and Pest (pronounced Pescht). Although I was there during the week, I was surprised how empty the streets were at night, even in the main areas. The two things a visitor must do are to walk around and see all the buildings, statues and monuments of the Austro-Hungarian empire and what remains of the communist Russian rule and also to relax in the public baths, which are heated by natural hot springs and offer spa services.
