We woke up to a little rain. A small front must have come through because Amy had one of her headaches. Another hearty breakfast and lovely soup for lunch. Everything tastes better here. The sun came through later and we decided to explore a little of Edigheim. We always get lost when we walk around here and this time was no exception. We recovered quickly and got home in time for a short nap before we headed out for the evening. Tonight’s big entertainment is in Bad Durkheim, along the German Wine Road. Apologies in advance for our late start on the travel blog. We’re filling in a few days after the fact. We hit the ground running in Germany and haven’t stopped! Our trip started off in typical Brian and Amy fashion. We got to Dulles in plenty of time after dropping Edge and Skye at the kennel. “Griffito” is staying with Aunt Silvia and Uncle Robert. Cedric the Gnome is making the trip with us. He’s decided to look for a German girlfriend. Ray Solt fixed his brother up with an “angel” so he’s been a little jealous. We hopped on the bus at the long term parking but when we got to the terminal we missed the right spot to get off – even after we’ve both been to Dulles hundreds of times. Classic. July22 Meersburg to Ludwigshafen: 40km- Today was just a great day, after way to much food at the Pension we started off on our new plan to get to the Danube. We were looking for a route with the least hills and were confident we had found it! We travelled along and were delighted to stumble upon 2 town festivals where there was music, carnivals, and of course all the local food fair of a festival. I had the best piece of cake ever & we enjoyed the day to the max. We also were lucky enough to meet some people that chatted with us about the bike.
