Needless to say. Berlin is a great place for shopping. Few people, however, realize that Berlin is also home of the "one euro kebab". Those who are looking for an even chaper snack, might go for the traditional German sausage, the "Bockwurst" for unbelievably 60 cents.... read more

Sorry everyone, this is gonna be a very long one, so if you don't want to read all of it I'll sum it up.... It was a great conference and I had a blast in Berlin! =) Now for the rest of you, here are the details... enjoy =)...... After having finally finished writing about the first two days I've realized it's going to be really long. I don't want to have to cut anything out 'cause I'm so excited about what I wrote, so I decided to break it up into a few journal entries so it doesn't look too overwhelming. Skim it if you want, only read parts or if you have a lot of free time read it all. =) Hope you all enjoy.. there will be more coming. (If you want to ... read more

Erin here! Firstly, can I just say that the German keyboards are very similar to ours except that the y and the z are switched. I am trying to retrain my brain to think z when I want to hit y but only limited success. So please forgive me if a couple slip through. Well, Germany has been a great laugh up until now! We arrived in Neustadt (literal translation "New Town" although the people who named it weren´t blessed with foresight when thez named it about 500 years ago!) where Dan´s auntie, uncle and cousins live and had a great time there. His cousins are 12, 9 and like 7 or something and their English skills descend accordingly in age order. They were really great kids though and Uncle Peter is a great cook. Neustadt, ... read more

Guten Tag! Last weekend, Clare, Jon and I headed for what was once the most divided city in Europe. Walking to our hostel, I thought “what a dirty city” as ‘dust’ floated down on me. After the penny dropped (along with the temperature), the realisation that it was actually snow and not debris was far too exciting for this stupid Australian! Our hostel (suggestively named Helter Skelter) was unpleasantly ... read more
