Arrived in Rust after a c5 hour journey from the track... To be fair, the queue wasn't that bad - although we were diverted a few miles due to traffic restrictions. Lewis played a blinder - started at the back of the grid and finished in 3rd... result! Spent last night as visitors to Elephant F1 Camping in Ster. A much better proposition than the football ground that we were staying in... Think we will definitely stay there if we visit again. We were greated in Rust (at EuropaPark) at c10pm this evening by 'Oliver'. A young kid (7-9ish) who offered us support with filling up Fugly's water. He had visted the park 25 times and was a VIP (he / his parents clearly had friends in the right places). Think he targetted us as we ... read more

It was about a two-hour drive from Sandra’s house to Rust, so a bit better than the three-day journey to Florida from Maine that I remember doing as a kid. No pit-stops, hotels, or screaming kids in the back of the van made the journey very relaxing. When we arrived, we could see a few of the rollercoaster’s in the distance. Sandra’s two cousins (Patrick and Michelle) were excited. They're a bit younger than Sandra and I so the trip was especially fun for them. The Hotel we were ... read more

We left Winterthur on Saturday afternoon and managed to get lost within the first 20 mins (I didn't have directions I swear). We somehow found the right road and after about an hours driving we arrived at the checkpoint on the Swiss/German border. We were expecting to at least have our passports looked at, being a bunch of very obvious foreigners in rented cars but they just waved us through. Soon after arriving in Germany we found ourselves on the autobahn -the motorways all through Germany with absolutely no speed limit. We were driving along at a slow to average speed of 140-150km/h and we were getting passed by cars going so fast that if you blinked you missed them, and it wasn't just one or two cars going faster than us. We had to ... read more
