Date: 27.11.2004 Destination: Paris, France Day: 1 Paris, the romantic city. It was a weekend and following a day tour, we got to see this beautiful city and some of her world famous landmark. The bus begin the 6 hours long journey at midnight and reached Paris at approximately 8.30pm, making us having exactly 12 hours to see and feel the life in Paris. The weather was by our side as it is not too cold but just cool enough. First stop, Eiffel Tower. After getting used to the train, we finally reach the tower. The sight was just amazing! The tower is very high and we just couldn't see the top of it, because of the morning haze! People were starting to get more and more, so after a short breakfast picnic in the park, ... read more

Hey Guys, Firstly huge apologies for my slackness with both these journals and emails. I just can't figure out where all my time is disappearing too. Its going so quickly! On the upside it's only 4 weeks till Eamonn arrives in Paris now :) Just a quick catch up on my routine activities; Am playing soccer twice a week at the moment through uni which is heaps of fun. Hardly any girls, but all the guys are good about it and they have pretty awesome skills. Have a couple of french friends through soccer which is cool, and one of them Jerome came to our place for dinner a couple of weeks ago and then asked Torse out by text!! It was so funny, he's a little bit girlfriend desperate but really lovely and quite spunky....he's ... read more

sorry pressed enter by accident! So anyway....I think Terezin was even more moving because it was freezing cold the day we went, which just rubbe din how terrible it must have been to be living there. The bunks were crowded together, and were just wooden slats, 3 or 4 high. The museum there was excellent, retaining the dignity of the people who were imprisoned there, while still evoking the awful history of the time. The thing that really got me was the vividness of the colours and materials...somehow it really brought back how recent all this stuff was. The objects hadn't decayed, and there were many paintings done by the children held there too. These were the most moving for me, as each one had the name of the child atrist under it and whether or ... read more

Well, as October was coming to a close, my classes were becoming more demanding, and we started to settle into Parisian life. However, Halloween in one of my favorite holidays, and I did not want to totally miss out on it just because we were here in France. Luckily for us, Disneyland Paris had a Halloween themed month in October, and I was interested in seeing if the Disneyland over here measured up to the original southern California Park. It was a lot of fun. For the most part the parks are the same as each other, but there were some surprising differences. For one thing the rollercoasters Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain are much more like real rollercoasters here than in the original. Thunder Mountain actually includes a fairly large drop that carries you under ... read more
