Just some pictures from the weekend, and a squeak to say I'm still alive. Tomorrow will mark exactally one month on this side of the pond. I got to enjoy the company of some other American students this weekend, and the weather was unpredicible and crazy. Every half hour it would change from sun to snow to wind to hail... I still managed to get laundry done, despite nature's wrath. The louvre was huge, so I simply wandered for as long as I could. I'll devote more time to specific parts later, when I have the energy. But I took pictures now and then, so enjoy p.s - don't forget to sign your comments p.p.s - don't forget to come visit me. ~kelly... read more

Here it is again for those that missed out... Hi All, Since we last conversed I have been to Paris for work and loved every second of it. I think i will let the pics do the talking for me on that one... I was a tourist in my own home town yesterday and started at the Borough Markets at London Bridge Station. They were wonderful and I go rather tipsy on one mug of Hot Spiced Cider. I bought some blackberry liquer and an fresh olive Ciabata and topped it all of with a zuchini and italian sausage pizza....yummy. To walk off all that good grub I strolled along the Thames to the Millenium Bridge and then onto St Paul's Cathedral (in honour of my big bros up coming birthday - dont think I have ... read more

I arrived in Paris after a good nights sleep on the "TrenHotel" from Madrid. I left my backpack in a locker and headed out to see Paris. I walked along the Seine wandered through Notre Dame (I was waiting to go up in the towers, however they hadn't opened for the day by 10:20 and should have been open at 10 so I left) I saw the town hall with a nice "PARIS2012" sign for the Olympics. They had signs all over town creating excitment about the games possibly coming to town "J'aime les Joux" which I was told means "I Love the Games" not "I Love the Jews" I next found the Louvre. I am not much of a museum lover but this place is incredible. It is huge and has great art from allover ... read more

Wuhh, I'm tired. I don't have a great reason for being tired, except that I might subconsiously be on constant high-alert-survival-mode and not know it. This week I revised some character designs, animated one scene sucsessfully, and trashed numerous attempts at a second scene. Today I was completley burned out on 3/4th walks in perspective, so I found much more instant gratification in making another comic instead. This one has lots of words, but not much of a story. Enjoy! Page one Page two Page three Page four May attempt the Louve this weekend. Definetley will be sleeping. It started raining again. Too tired to write more... Bon weekend! ... read more

21 days in France. Does it seem that long to you? The weeks are a blur, and I mark the weekends with pictures, each one a mini vacation. I don't work on the weekends (yet.) I am used to the french keyboards now, and typing this entry on my ibook is confusing. On satudray I completed my Parisian transformation by buying a long black coat, a book to read on the metro, and entrance into a paris nightclub. Dancing ahoy. Also, I've decided English is a beautiful and underrated language. I love hearing it. This sunday I was rewarded by further exploration of le Marias and the latin quarter. The Picasso museum was just the right size, and I stumbled upon it on a free entrance day. Pictures ahoy. At school, film stuff really got rolling. ... read more

Tomorrow is feburary! The month of love! Where I will passionetly give myself over to my film! I will jump into it's arms, and we will have Paris together. I just did the math, and it looks like I will be animating 15 seconds a week, in order to complete this puppy in 15 weeks. Anyways... Here's my weekend in Amelie-land. ... read more

On Sunday the 16th of January, we finally got around to going out on the Christmas/Winter themed date that I won in a game of rummy. Actually, the activity which we choose as the focal point of our outing was one that we had been planning to do since before I even won the date. For our date, we went Ice skating on the Eiffel Tower. What an experience! This year was something like the first time in 50 years that the city of Paris has decided to construct an ice skating rink on the first floor of the Eiffel tower. In fact, we wouldn’t have even found out about if it were not for our relatives back home. A lot of you read about it in the papers and let us know what was planned. ... read more

The week went by quicker than could keep up with. School was a blur now that I try to think back on it. Mostly handling technical difficulties between my american mac, and the french PC's, and finally getting acsess to my storyboard files. I attended their acting-for-animators class, which was taught by a retired mime. They were learning coreographed swordfighting; so we all took turns going at eachother with sticks. I'm not making this up. On thrusday I tagged along with the first year students to the Musee de Orsay, a giant train station converted into a museum that focuses on sculpture and impressionism. A lot of classics were there, it was great to see them with my own eyes. Dega's pastels were so soft and glowing, and all of Van Gough's environments has something strange ... read more
