Bonjour everyone, so these photos have been a long time coming.. Well Paris was fantastic.. We set off early on Saturday morning and caught the train(eurostar) to Paris.. It only takes an hour and a half to get there which is awesome.. We got stuck straight into the sightseeing as soon as we landed.. First things first though we had to find our hotel, and it was in a dodgy, dodgy area but this made it all the more fun!!!!!!!!! Once we'd checked in it was time for a croissant and off to the Eiffel tower... Awesome!! We did all the usual sights, the Moulin Rouge, the Sacre couer? Not sure how to spell it.. Sorry It really is one of the most beautiful cities i've ever seen.. We saw Notre Dame although Quasimodo wasn't in.. He ... read more

Arrived in Paris to a pretty warm evening. Customs and immigration were pretty lacklustre, so I didn't even get to have my passport stamoed. Customs was empty, so we just wandered out. We caught a train from the airport to the city and my first impressions were that Paris is a dump. It reminded me of when I had to catch the train through Collingwood to get to TAFE in Melbourne. We arrived at the hostel, and got to our private room with shower.... the shower was out of order. At least we had beds. There isn't a kitchen, just a microwave next to the computer i'm typing on. But it's a place to sleep, so we're not concerned. We decided to goi out to a restaurant for a meal, and I got stuck into some ... read more

French bread. French wine. French people. The place where the naked ladies dance. Home to arguably the most recognized tower in the world. The stature of monuments. The once-dominating and overriding force of Napoleon and the opulent King Louis. We have arrived in Paris via the high-speed Thalys train from Brussels. Navigating the intense metro system at first was a bit insane due to the criss-crossing tunnels under the city but we soon mastered the system and we were on our way. With no help from the Parisians handing out fliers outside the metro, we found our home for five days...Woodstock Hostel located a couple blocks below the beautiful Sacré Coeur Basilica in Montmartre where Van Gogh and Picasso lived. After a restful first day, our adventures started at the incredible Museé Louvre where we witnessed ... read more

A woman my husband works with who, incidentally, is French, says that “Paris is the jewel of the world.” Though I’ve not seen enough of the world to be an authority on the subject, I am inclined to believe her. Paris was magnificent, and the city filled me with a euphoria that has yet to dwindle. The pictures we took, it seems to me, are a bit of a lie, or at least a misconception; it is impossible to capture Paris on film, but I have posted some of our best pictures of her. Or us. It was a bit of a bumpy ride, as we opted for the convenience of a bus tour. We left Heidelberg late Friday night and arrived in Paris for breakfast on Saturday. Our first major stop was at the Notre ... read more

Ok, as promised what seems like a year ago here is the picture of us and Tom Williams in Paris. For those who dont know he is a quasi famous class b or maybe c grade celebrity in Australia famous for taking off his shirt while dancing. Unfortunately the shirt stayed on that day, but he was a lovely fellow all the same. Oh and I also saw Owen Wilson in Rome, looking furtive in his baseball cap....but i saw him. He looked scared that i was going to come running after him and maul him or something but i was quite cool just gave him a smile. :)... read more

We got up about 10am, got ready, grabbed our crepe’s and panini’s and walked up to ‘Parc Montsouris’. We had our food on the park bench then had a walk around. We caught the Metro to Chalet and spent the afternoon looking around the Louvre - WOW!!! what an amazing place! There was so many thing to see. We had a look around the ‘Treasury of the World’ Exhibition which was showing ‘Jewelled Arts of India in the Age of the Mughals’. It was amazing to see how advanced and intricately beautiful the pieces were, even for things like swards. Check out the Louve website, you may have to look as past exhibitions if it is no longer under ‘current exhibitions’: http://www.louvre.fr/llv/commun/home_flash.jsp We also got to walk though the remains of ‘The Medieval Lourve’, which is ... read more

Well Kristin missed the first chance to get over to Paris, but we got it right this time! On the 17th of August we ditched work early and hitched a ride on the eurostar out for 4 days holiday. We got into Paris at around 10pm and sussed the tubes quick smart. Our hotel was about a km from the Arc de Triomphe (kicked a goal there), and we didn't have too much trouble finding our way there. After just a little sleep in on the Friday morning we headed out to see what we could see. We made our way up to the Arc, and on down the Champs Elysees. Near the Concorde we decided to jump on an open top bus to take us around the main sights in the city. First stop was ... read more
