Well, I have finally found a smell worse than the pee-soaked stations… Mustek station in Prague smells like puke. At first I thought ‘man, what bad timing for it to smell this way…’ but no, it’s permanent. I had the misfortune of using the station once yesterday, and then 3x today. Ew. Anyway, on with my day. The plan was to do that 6hr day tour followed by the ghost tour… yeah, didn’t happen. ‘Prague Walks’ can kiss my bum. I show up and the guy is too busy talking with a girl on a segway to even notice I’m there. FINALLY he’s like ‘can I help you?’ I asked about the tour. He noted that I’m alone, and they don’t do them for one person. Ok, but the brochure and online says it’s daily. He ... read more

Mary Anne -Prague, Czech Republic Last two days of our three week tour of four countries. We took the train from Vienna to Prague and found that our hotel accommodations were just a little bit less then perfect. After being picked up from the train station by bus we were taken to our hotel in a questionable neighborhood. Our room was the attic of the hotel. There were no wall windows only ceiling windows. I felt like maybe I was Anne Frank. It was the 4th floor and that means not 4 sets of stairs but 8 sets. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger but I can’t say that. Anyway as long as I was careful and didn’t bump my head when I sat up in bed, I did OK. On the first ... read more

Well we're not in Prague anymore but in Vienna (I (SB) wanted to put the czech republic on the travel map). The day started well, we arrived only 2.5 hrs late after an interesting night on a night train witzh a very scary guard. The people in our carriage arrived, cried and left which made us feel so special. Prague however was very pretty, if a little damp. We decided we wanted to go to Prague Castle which apparently is lovely. We found it, but we couldnt find a way *into* it! Once we did we did we saw the changing of the guard, in which no guards changed... Odd. (Prague Castle is apparently the biggest in Europe, its more like the biggest extension in Europe). We found that we could go inside, if we paid ... read more

What up Yall, So I just got through the first weekend in Prague and got to spend it with Mika and Matt. 3 words, so much fun. Thursday my roommates and I started wandering around Prague finding all the major land marks in Prague 1 for our first homework assignment. There is so much history and insane stories about how all the buildings were built. For instance the apartment complex where we are living was build 600 years ago, yea scary, but don't worry its safe. Friday I waited for Mike and Matt to get here. We just hung out and they got to meet all 40 of us staying over here. That night we went on the Underground Pub Crawl that is run by Americans, It was so nice to here English as a first ... read more

Well, we successfully conquered Prague!! We arrived at 11pm Thursday June 11th after a very long drive from Heidelberg. On the way, we stopped in a little town called Rothenburg. (Thanks Teresa for the tip on the Midevil Museum there!) It was an AMAZING old town surrounded by a wall. Took TONS of pictures inside the Kriminal Mueseum. Actually ran the camera out of battery, and had to run back to the RV. So, the drive to Prague was about 5 hours, and Jay had to drive the whole way, as I was a little hungover! However, I did learn the art of slicing tomatoes on the Autobaun while doing 120km/h !!! Most of the other cars were doing about 200km/h. It's really nice having a kitchen/bar/lounge/bedroom on wheels!!! This is definately the way to travel ... read more

Prague Day 7-9 (May 25-27) We travelled by 3 trains, increasing in size - a one carriage, then two carriage, and then 6 carriage train to get to Prague through more green countryside and small villages. We stayed in apartments in Prague which was a change, not that we used the kitchen but it was nice to have the option. Prague has a wonderful old town section, with so many historic buildings. There is a very large castle complex on the hill across the river; a square with an astronomical clock (that crowds stand around waiting to watch the various elements appear on the hour), impressive buildings in all styles from over the last 10 centuries including some great art nouveau ones; and the connection to Franz Kafka and Mozart’s - Don Giovanni (chosen to be ... read more
