Today I got up at 7 o'clock. At 8 o'clock we had breakfast with milk, toast, cornflakes and jam. At 8.30 our host father brought us to school. Before the school began, a woman repeated the school rules. At 10 o'clock our teacher Caroline came. We had to introduce ourselves and played the game "Taboo". This was very funny and she was very nice. From 11-11.30 we had a break. I used my time eating my lunch pachage and writing an e-mail home. Later we had another teacher named David. We played games and made quizzes with him. David was a little bit crazy but nice. From 1-2 o'clock we had our free time. Later we were watching the Film "Notting Hill". There is a limit to the amount on pictures that I am allowed to post on this site. I have a link below of the website that I will post "most" of my pictures. There you will be able to see many many more. I just woke up from a nap! We are trying to get things situated before we head to Venice tonight! We are leaving from the school at 11:30pm and will arrive in Venice, Italy at 6:00am. There are 55 students going down on the bus....so no sleep? I thought I had read in one of the books that Melk, a small village about an hour West of Vienna, houses a monastery and a winery. We had a free day and it was a sunny one so we took advantage of it and hopped on the train to Melk. The ride was beautiful and it allowed us to see the countryside of Austria we had not seen yet. You could see the monastery from the town and it looked like it pretty much dominated the tiny village. The tour was not until 2p so we walked around the outside grounds for a while and tried to find a coffee shop. Everywhere was closed for the winter, even the park adjacent to the monastery. Oh well. Sigh. I was all ready to come online today and positively gush about the wonderful city of Vienna and Austria in general, particularly how wonderful the people we've met have been, and then an incident occured which considerably soured my mood. After getting up early to pack up and check out of our hostel (we're leaving for Prague today), I headed to the local grocery store, Billa, to buy some breakfast while Derek went to the bookstore. I picked out a yogurt, a coffee/yogurt drink, and a seriously delicious looking apple strudel. I was particularly excited about the strudel because Maria lists it as "one of her favourite things," so I wanted to have some before I left Austria. Well, it was not to be.
