We received an email from one of our Neighbors from Holland that Kim is coming with a friend, NO problem. Of course they needed to dive. First there was some anxiety, but both passed their open water coures with Martin the Guru. Now it was time to see something else of Costa Rica. Sunday we took them to Tamarindo. Walked around and spend money on food, drinks and souvenirs. Tuesday it was time to go to Tronodora, and visit Kees for his B-day. Great opportunity for the girls to see lake Arenal. We decided to spend the night and move to Monteverde the next day. Change of plans. At breakfast Willeke started talking about Rio Celeste and that is where we decided to go. Great TIp! Awesome water, it is really blue. We had to do ... read more

So the bus finally turned up and i assumed it was a direct bus how wrong i was, it made loads of stops, was not arir conditioned and i was jammed in to a seat and knees crushed at the front and back kneed aswell and sweating like a pig and later on some of the Ticos shut the windows, it got to the stage the people standing up to and the pan american highway you would imagine is more than one lane either way. but it is one lane either way so if your stuck in slow moving traffic then your stuck, we were behind traffic for a while then we stopped at a cafe and i got some food and drink and then we carried on and we got to libera and i seriously ... read more

A few days ago Martin went to San Jose to pick up Melissa I was in the office when somebody called me and said a monkey was hit by a car and they were told to call me. Sammy offered to pick it up, after I explained she had to be careful and use a big towel. Once at the vet (across the street) ( why do people keep calling me? even the vet asked me to help her out because she was scared) We examend the poor monkey and saw it was attacked by a dog or some kind of animal. After a shot to calm the monkey down we cleaned the wounds and found an extra nipple, (we thought) it happened to be a big bug(parasite) which looked like a butterfly pop of about ... read more

Water!!!, yes we had some rain and believe me 2 days ago I was not smiling, crying came first. I must say I did not cry and things weren't so bad as you imagine. When you see these photos on tv, people are always crying and I stayed totally calm. the pictures say enough, I think.............this happened at 10 pm and we finally went to bed at 5am and back to work at 7am, yawn. The next day we had alot of people help us out and we build a nice wall. And now.........??? it's not raining anymore!!!!!!...................................................................................................... Water!!, ja, we hebben wat regen gehad, en geloof mij 2 dagen geleden was ik niet meer aan het lachen maar eerder aan het huilen. Gek genoeg hebben we niet gehuid. en eigenlijk is het allemaal niet zo ... read more

It's this time of the year again, our boat went out for it's annual repairs. We were lucky and only had 3 days of rain. Hopefully we go back in tomorrow and everything will be back to normal on a nice, clean boat. Het is weer de tijd van het jaar dat onze boot uit het water moest. Gelukkig hebben we maar 3 dagen regen gehad en kunnen we hopelijk morgen weer terug het water in en is alles weer normaal met een mooie boot.... read more

We have a new pizote, her mama died on the electricity cables and this little"dushi" has lost her tail. She is so sweet and really cuddely.

Well I guess all you guys heard about the earthquake that hit Peru?! There was a tsunami warning for the coast of Central America, so also Playas del Coco. A tsunami was supposed to reach us at 21.40. I received a phone call around 8pm, from the boat security guard. The whole beach was evacuating and he was scared. We decided to stay the night in and we were watching a good movie and eating dinner on the couch. We never finished our dinner. We checked the internet and then rushed to the beach to secure our boat. We called the other dive shop and Francie stayed with the stuff, while I went home to load my zoo in the pickup. The cameras, laptop, money and anything else I thought of was already in the other ... read more
