This day was to be over shadowed by the main event happening tonight! But we needed to do something for the day to go bye. So we once again put on our woollies and trudged up towards Central Park and aiming for Nike Town. Needing fuel we stopped by a little eatery by the name of Gregory's and had our selves some warming coffees and toast. We found Nike town and perused the floors of different Nike apparel. Americans not working for tips certainly do not put in the customer service as do their counterparts. Anyway after we waited 20mins for the larger size jumper for Ollie, we realised the correct choice was made. He looked the goods, model material for sure. Bec decided she wanted more culture in the day than a few large sweaty ... read more

There was a long day of packing and traveling today and unfortunately it fell right smack on Ollie’s birthday. Happy Birthday! now get packing. Boooooo. Never mind still got to try and make the best of things. After a session of opening a few presents in between packing up our gear for the next leg of our trip, we dragged our sleepy selves down to the street to find a cab. We had given ourselves a bit of extra time to make sure we were not late to the airport. As it turns out the trip to JFK was no worries and we got there with time to spare. A bit of an oversight while getting our boarding passes put us in the emergency line, but when the airline host caught this issue of having a ... read more

No white Christmas as we were hoping for, but it certainly had the cold. Coldest day of the trip so far and we found out that it had actually snowed earlier that morning, just not enough to hang around. Never mind we had ourselves a lovely Christmas lunch planned gifted to us from the English Walkers. The restaurant that was booked was called Bryant Park Grill and it was located in Bryant Park, go figure. so after we did a bit of pressie opening, well watching Ollie open presents, we decided to brave the cold and head to the park a couple of hours earlier to check out the markets, the ice rink and of course another giant Christmas tree. It was indeed cold but Ollie and I warmed up on pretzels and churros while we ... read more

Woke up in the morning with the sound of rain piter patter on the roof.... wait.. no.. same as every other day cause we are in the middle of an apartment building with our window facing an other building about a meter away. So it is raining and it is quite foggy and grey, what better day to go and see the Statue of Liberty from the seat of a Staten Island ferry. Easy cab ride to the ferry terminal with our Indian friend, no change there. The ferry ride consist of half an hour to the island that really has nothing to do there and then off, walk around a circle and get back on for the half an hour return trip. Cool, an hour done and the lady of freedom waved goodbye. From there ... read more

Sooo much done, but still so much to do. But before that, time to have a big ol' healthy breakfast of Nutella French toast American style! When I say American style I mean a serve big enough that not even I can finish it, and that's saying a lot. The quaint little venue this morning was called Penelope's and we met our Pokémon hungry friend Fish there first, and as it wasn't ready we managed to get a quick coffee and Pokémon walk in before being seated, much to the joy of our non Pokémon peeps. With a late start, a walk around, an extended breakfast and a bottomless mug of coffee we found that we didn't have a lot of time to dilly dally before the show Aladdin was to start at the Amsterdam theatre. ... read more

Lovely morning too have a bit of a relax and some gaming in the room with Ollie while Bec and Mum tackled some shopping, pretty sure I got the good end of that deal. Not before too long it was time to head off to our next adventure. Christmas with the Rockettes! We walked briskly through Bryant Park and had to be at Radio City an hour before the show and as we had seen the size of the line a few days earlier down the street we decided not to risk it. The line was still there but it moved really quick and after the statutory metal detector and bag search we were gazing upon the awesome interior of a Christmas infused Radio City Lobby. Ollie and I took a quick spin with Santa in ... read more

Early rise puts us out the front of our apartment, into our van and on the road to Washington by 0700. First stop was Delaware, just a quick stop for a pretzel at Cinabon and a quick coffee, extra weak. Another pit stop at Maryland and then into the heart of freedom and the white glare of the Capital. May the odds be in your favour. Straight into the fray with a tour of Capitol Hill. God I love my politics, maybe even as much as Ollie (check the OMG I'm bored pic). Out of the frying pan into the fire in the top seats of the Senate and watching nobody listen to some dude wallow on about some Russian theory involving Trump. Can not get enough! Do I really have to leave. Got out of ... read more

Late start, but woke refreshed and hungry. Down the road for a bagel, coffee, wifi and a brief attack plan. First stop was Magnolia Bakery near Central Park, because as EVERYBODY knows this is where the Sex in the City girls get their sweets from. One cupcake and thirty photos laters we walked back to Central Park via the Gateway to another world and the building that was attacked by Stay Puff in Ghostbusters! I am the Key Master! Nice viewing of Central Park via both feet and horse drawn cart. Got the driver to take a nice photo of us and then his horse decided to walk off without him. Just as I was about to launch into my 'wild west runaway horse drawn cart routine' the dude hoped back in and continued the tour. ... read more

With a whole lot of flying under our belts and a bit of sleep in our eyes we figured what better way to clear our heads and get our bearings was to go for a nice stroll. Nothing too extreme just a waltz down to Grand Central Station to start ticking boxes! A bit chilly, around 6 degrees nothing we cant handle, but I am glad I changed out of shorts. After the Station we found our way to the New York Public Library. Checked its Chrissy tree and book train and realised that sleep was very much needed. As it was getting dark we agreed on an early night, followed by a quick 14-16 hour sleep. I did manage to squeeze in a couple of Bud Lites and a Philly Cheese Steak before bed! When ... read more

So it begins again! The Walkers find themselves in the Qantas lounge with a few hours to kill, an open bar at their disposal and some good times pending. I had myself some refreshing drinks just to help Bec with her pre-flight nerves, always caring! Before to long the flight was, as they say, up up and away! Our flights went via Tokyo but who cares when you get Qantas PJs! With a bit of a hefty stop over (5hrs) we managed to find the JAL lounge and treat ourselves to a bit of breakfast and a nice warm shower. Bec found the bench seats more comfortable than an aircraft flat-bed and decided to catch up on some zzzz, at least safer than being 1 million miles in the air! I managed to locate the beer ... read more
