Hotels in Maldives
There is not a hotel on every island, but just about every hotel/resort is on its own private island. I believe you can get "cheap" accommodations in Male, the capital, but I would suggest getting package deals because that is what most places offer. It generally includes food and impeccable service. Be sure that you understand what the transfer fees are though. The islands are very spread out, so depending on where you are, the transfer costs (seaplane, boat ride) can be expensive. Ours was about $300 from Male International Airport to our hotel - this included the seaplane and boat ride. The islands also generally accept American dollars, even providing the costs in USD. Haha - yeah, it was bad of me to do, probably, but it was quite different. The ladies were nice, but did not seem to be as efficient. There were less people on this flight, but my other flight it seemed I had someone (actually 2) specifically assigned to me. This flight had anyone so they asked me if I wanted tea or coffee literally every two minutes, which got annoying. Just one example... Haha. I'm such an elitist jerk now...

That was the first time I'd seen one on the plane! It was pretty cool and well behaved. Must be nice to be a falcon sometimes... :)
