Ten Things I Hate About You... I cheated by using the internet. Glad to hear that it wasn't entirely a wasted trip. Nothing like hot chocolate on a cold rainy day.
Wow! Beautiful! Prague is on my list, maybe when I get to traveling you'll be up for round 2 there. :) I had a flight just like that one my last time back to Indiana. Only she was overweight and still just rude about everything. Some people are just 'more important' I guess. Have fun and enjoy your beers! Miss you!!!! xoxox
Thanks for the post! That cooking class looks like a lot of fun, Pookie Bear. Have I told you that I learned how to bake cookies last year? I thought it would be something nice to hand out to clients. If you will allow me to toot my own horn, I have perfected my recipe and my cookies are incredible. My clients, coworkers and friends love them. Hope this finds you safe, healthy and happy, buttercup. Can't wait for your next blog post and I'm looking forward to seeing you pretty soon! The vpt and tpt both miss you dearly.
Cookies!?! Hey Sugarlips, what kind of cookies do you make? I'll be back for a visit in a month, so I expect you to wow me!!!
Miss you and thanks for keeping up with my crazy life! :)
Thanks for sharing a bit of what everyday life is like... it reminded me of my soils lab experience, a summer job before starting college...a lot of aggregate going through sieves and doing concrete and asphalt mix design...still have a smashed pinky. I never did the geotechnical stuff though. As for soccer/football, on my first construction job in northern Thailand, our team of engineers and inspectors played the local high school girls' team...22 of them against 11 of us...and they were allowed to scratch. My jersey was shredded, not to mention my skin. My wife was not pleased when I got home!
Thanks for blogging about your job. It was really interesting to read about what you are doing over there. You are certainly missed over here. Hope all is well, Pookie.
Looks like you are having fun! Great photos, pookie. The picture of you doing Ron's dance is classic. We miss you. It would be great to Skype you in for poker again soon. Hope all is well!
Wow! Great stuff! Hey Alexis-
I'm a terrible person for not communicating with you! Looks like all is well and you are having a blast, not to mention the work and travel experiences you have. Have fun! What are your plans after May 2014? Are you staying there longer?
Doing the best you can I would not do well being called a liar and a cheat. I hope that behavior comes to an end soon. We went in one of the malls when we were in Dubai because we'd been on the road for months and I wanted Papa John's pizza. It was yummy. I stopped in one of the stores for a nano second as I'm not a shopper and was shocked at the expensive prices. From your shopping and comments I assume all the stores are not expensive. Good luck with the new start.
Vienna Having had to work so much in my working days I can appreciate how good it feels to just rest and think in the mornings instead of having to hurry off to work. I'm sure you enjoyed the quiet moments on your trip, and in such a lovely and clean place.
working vs relaxation Yes, it is nice to be able to get away from the pressures of work even for a few days. However, as much as I love traveling and it makes me happy, it is not really a time for rest. Sometimes, you just have to take those few days off and be home on your own to avoid complete exhaustion. I'm realizing that the hard way for the past couple of weeks!!!
Heading to Vienna We will follow in your footsteps in a few days. I look forward to seeing the Danube. We look forward to experiencing the public transportation.
The Nutcracker We have tickets to the Vienna Orchestra and are excited. Who knows what else we might find once we get there. Last year this time of year we were in Cuba and saw the Nutcracker while there. It was lovely. I'm sure all of the Vienna performances are top quality.
I was an engineer on a long term assignment, first in Dubai and then in Qatar. During this time, I took advantage of my nice paycheck and proximity to other places to start seeing the world. After three years, I decided to take a much earned break and traveled for a year. After working about two years in New York State, I am on my way back to Dubai.... full info
