Geo: 18.0344, -63.0927Here are all the pictures I missed in the first round of SXM pics. There are some bday pics, and various ones from touring the island. March 15th, 2016 - SXM and Birthday picturesHello all,Again, I had best apologize upfront for my silence / tardiness in writing. We've received several "Where are you?" emails and I certainly do not mean to cause anyone any worry. We've been simply enjoying ourselves and taking our sweet time, as usual. It works for us and we are still loving every moment that we can be out here living our dream. First, let me say a huge THANK YOU to those of you who joined us for Tony's birthday. Eleven Torontonians flew in, and another 14 cruisers either sailed in, or met us here to take part in ... read more

Oceans and Seas » Atlantic » Atlantis February 1st 2016

Geo: 18.6671, -64.325Unlike the rest of the Eastern Caribbean, Anegada is a low lying island, only 28 feet above sea level at it's highest point, which reminded us so much of the Bahamas. (And for the record, we still miss the Bahamas and talk about returning there in the future.) There are only about 300 people living on this island, which makes it much more "our style" - save for the bazillion charter boats. We stayed for a few days, anchored on the south side, but enjoying the beautiful, quiet beaches on the north side of the island. Despite all the charter boats, few people take the time to go to the north side. After beaching it, and getting our fill of soft white sand, we enjoyed a meal ashore and then prepared to make our ... read more

Geo: 18.3435, -64.9791Whoa! We've been on the MOVE!With the Christmas winds behind us, we made an aggressive move from Culebra to the BVI with only overnight stops in between. The Northern Swells were coming and we had to get moving towards SXM for Tony's birthday. We stopped in Brewer's Bay, St. Thomas for one night and then carried on to the BVI. Our first stop was Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke. While Tony was ashore to check us in, he bumped into an EYC member or two!!! Bob and Bob (From A dock) were sailing around the BVI for a couple of weeks. Tony came back to the boat to pick me up and we enjoyed a quick catch up with "the Bob's" before we made our way to Diamond Cay to get ourselves out of ... read more

Geo: 18.3135, -65.2864Has a nice ring to it, yes? ..."Christmas in Culebra". ;) We had decided in the summer months that we'd spend Christmas in Culebra. So when our friend Darren asked if he could visit for Xmas, we immediately told him to book a flight to Culebra, Puerto Rico! Darren joined us for ten days over Xmas and New Years. We spent Christmas Day on the beach, ate way more pizza than planned, ate out, ate in, and experienced an amazing NYE party that you had to see to believe. The game of cribbage became a competition sport. The guys played numerous games in order to determine who was the cribbage champion. I'm not sure who took the title in the end. The only thing we didn't get to do was take Darren sailing! The ... read more

Geo: 18.3135, -65.2864We didn't spend many days at the marina in Fajardo. We sweated it out and prepped the boat to move ourselves to Culebra. Once here, it took us a few days to get back in the groove, but that first morning, having our coffee in the cockpit, we knew we were back in our groove. ... read more

North America » United States » Florida » Holiday November 10th 2015

Geo: 28.1879, -82.7407It was surprisingly warm in Toronto right up until the time we flew south. But still, for us it was still a tad too cool. Warming up, en route to Puerto Rico we stayed just north of Tampa for ten days. Actually, the fact that we had this spot offered to us was a God sent. Our floating home (boat) in Toronto had been hauled out and was now on the hard (on land), yet hurricane season was still upon us so it was too early to go down to the southern boat.... I know, I know. First world problems. Nevertheless, it was so kind of our friends Chris and Nadia to provide us with their Florida home in our time of need. In return, I provided my chauffeuring services to all the guys ... read more
